  • Praying for Discernment

    Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your promise to instruct me and teach me the way in which I should go; that You will counsel me with Your eye upon me (Psalm 32:8).  Teach me Your ways so I may know You and continue to find favor with You (Exodus 33:13).  Give me an understanding heart that openly responds to the wisdom and direction I receive from You (1 Kings 3:9), so I can become responsive and obedient to all Your Will (Proverbs 3:1).

    Let us continually ask for discernment to know the path He wants us to take.

    Your Word tells us that if one rebukes a discerning man, he will gain knowledge (Proverbs 19:25), for knowledge comes easily to the discerning (Proverbs 14:6). I am Your servant; please, give me a discerning heart that I may understand Your statues (Psalm 119:125). For You, through Your Word, give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning (Daniel 2:21).

    You promised to guide me in the way of wisdom, Lord, so when I walk, my steps will not be hampered; and when I run, I will not stumble.  My path will be clear, and open to me (Proverbs 4:11-12).  In turn, I promise to let my eyes look straight ahead with fixed purpose and to keep my gaze straight before me (Proverbs 4:25), looking to Jesus, the Author of all faith (Hebrews 12:2).  With Your wisdom beside me and Your Spirit leading me, I will consider well the path of my feet, and I will let all my ways be established and ordered aright. I will not swerve to the right or the left; I will keep my foot from evil (Proverbs 4:26-27). My faithful Father, when I should turn to the right or to the left, please cause my ears to hear a voice behind me saying, “this is the way; walk in it” (Isaiah 30:21). Please, guide me to follow Your paths.

    A wise man’s heart discerns both the proper time and the proper procedure; for there is a proper time and procedure for every matter (Ecclesiastes 8:5-6). You inform us that whoever keeps the law is a discerning son (Proverbs 28:7). Your Word promises me, Lord, that You always order the steps of a good person, and You delight in the way of a person who follows You (Psalm 37:23).  With all my heart, Father, I want to follow Your ways; to be the kind of person who brings joy and delight to Your heart (Psalm 149:4).  That I may walk, live and conduct myself in a manner worthy of You, Lord, fully pleasing You and desiring to please You in all things, steadily growing and increasing in Your knowledge (Colossians 1:10).

    Your Word tells me: One is mature who, by constant use, has trained himself to distinguish good from evil (Hebrews 5:14). Please teach me to discern between the righteous and the wicked, between the one who serves You and the one who does not (Malachi 3:18).

    I humbly ask that You always guide me with Your good judgment and teach me Your ways (Psalm 25:9).  O Lord; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressor [the devil] (Psalm 27:11). Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemy — make straight Your way before me (Psalm 5:8). You are my God forever and ever.  Please be my guide even to the end (Psalm 48:14).  Cause me to know the way in which I should walk for to You I lift up my soul (Psalm 143:8). 

    Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; may Your good Spirit lead me on level ground (Psalm 143:10). You promised to guide me with Your counsel (Psalm 73:24); that everywhere Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast (Psalm 139:10); You will guide my feet into the path of peace (Luke 1:79).

    Jesus has been made unto me wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:30), and now I listen to Your Word, so I may add to my learning. This will develop a discerning heart in me that I may be guided by Your wisdom (Proverbs 1:5). Attend to my prayer, dearest Father, as I inclined my ear and my mind to Your Word (Proverbs 4:20).

  • Praying for Guidance

    Lord God, Your Word tells me to trust in You with all my heart and not lean on my own understanding. In all my ways I aim to acknowledge You, then You will make my paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). You tell us that the mind of man can plan a course, but You direct his steps (Proverbs 16:9). O loving Lord, please direct my steps and lead me down the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3)

    God our Father promises to be a light to our path.

    Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105).  You are my lamp, O Lord; You turn my darkness into light (2 Samuel 22:29). Lord, You have brought light to my life. My God, You light up my darkness (Psalm 18:28). Please help me to understand that, because I am Yours, Light is shining in my darkness whether or not I can behold it or understand it.

    Your Word says: I am the Lord, your God, who teaches you for your benefit and profit, who leads you in the way you should go (Isaiah 48:17). For the sake of Your name, O Lord, lead me and guide me (Psalm 31:3). O Lord, please guide me continually, satisfy my soul in this parched land, and make fat my bones (strengthen my frame); and I shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring whose waters never run dry (Isaiah 58:11).

    You stated that in Your unfailing love You will lead the people You have redeemed. In Your strength You will guide them to Your holy dwelling (Exodus 15:13). You have compassion for us, and so will guide us and lead us beside springs of water (Isaiah 49:10).

    You have given me the Holy Spirit to guide me into all truth (John 16:13).  Thank You for His guiding presence in my life. So, send forth Your light and Your truth, O Lord. Let them guide me; let them bring me to Your holy mountain, to the place where You dwell (Psalm 43:3).

    Give Your servant an understanding heart that I may always be able to discern between good and evil (1 Kings 3:9). So that I may be able to discern what is best, that I may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ’s return (Philippians 1:10).

    Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that the Holy Spirit clearly says in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons (1 Timothy 4:1). As the time of Your return approaches, there will be increasing deception and literally twisted doctrines taught by angels of darkness. Please develop a higher level of discernment in me, my Lord. Teach me to know truth so well that I will quickly recognize the most finely crafted lie. Help me never to abandon the faith to follow a lie.

  • Praying for Godly Wisdom

    Father, You said if anyone lacks wisdom, let that one ask of You, for You give to all men liberally, without finding fault, and it shall be given (James 1:5).  Therefore, I ask in faith – not doubting either that You are capable or that You are generous (James 1:6). I ask please to be filled with the knowledge of Your Will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Colossians 1:9).  Today I seek to incline my ear unto wisdom and apply my heart to understanding (Proverbs 2:2) so I might receive that which has been freely given to me (1 Corinthians 2:12).

    Many times, darkness surrounds us. Let us rely on God’s wisdom.

    Jesus has been made unto me wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:30), and in Him are all the treasures of divine wisdom – of comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God – and all the riches of spiritual knowledge and enlightenment are stored up and lie hidden in Him (Colossians 2:3). 

    Father, Your Word says that You shield those whose walk is blameless, that You guard the course of the just and protect the way of Your faithful ones. That then we will understand what is right and just and fair – every good path. Wisdom will enter our hearts, and knowledge will be pleasant to our souls (Proverbs 2:7-10). I thank You that, because of my faith, I have been justified and made righteousness in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21), and so I seek to walk in these paths of wisdom and knowledge. 

    I have been told, O God, that Your “Word is the best source to develop discernment”. By studying Your Word, I can attain skillful and Godly wisdom and instruction; I can discern and comprehend words of insight and understanding (Proverbs 1:2).  I can receive instruction in wise dealing and the discipline of wise thoughtfulness, righteousness, justice, and integrity (Proverbs 1:3).  Prudence, knowledge, discretion, and discernment can be mine (Proverbs 1:4).  I can increase in knowledge; and acquire skill and attain to sound counsel [so I may be able to steer my course rightly] (Proverbs 1:5).  I know that Your wisdom, O Lord, will keep, defend, and protect me (Proverbs 4:6).  Skillful and Godly wisdom is more precious than rubies; and nothing I can wish for is to be compared to it (Proverbs 3:15). 

    Father, in the name of Jesus, I look carefully to how I walk.  I want to live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as unwise and witless, but as a wise – sensible, intelligent person, making the very most of my time – buying up every opportunity (Ephesians 5:15-16). 

    Heavenly Father, You have promised to be my guide until I die (Psalm 48:14).  Lead me and guide me continually.  Guide me with Your counsel and make Your way straight in front of me; lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation (Psalm 25:5,9).  Father, I wait on You.

  • Praying Against Worldly Cares and Burdens

    Why are you cast down, O my soul?  Why should you moan over me and be disquieted within me? Put your hope in God! I will still praise Him, my Savior and my God (Psalm 42:5). 

    Many troubles always surround us, but God offers peace for the soul.

    Jesus, I come to You, because I labor and am heavy laden and over-burdened, and You cause me to rest – I know You will ease and relieve and refresh my soul (Matthew 11:28).  I willingly take Your yoke upon me, and I will learn of You, for You are gentle and humble in heart, and I will find rest – relief, ease, and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet – for my soul.  For Your yoke is wholesome, not harsh; and Your burden is light and easy to be borne (Matthew 11:29-30).  I cast my burden on You, Lord, trusting You to sustain me. I thank You that You will never allow me to be moved – made to slip, fall or fail – as long as I remain consistently righteous (Psalm 55:22).

    Father, You set Yourself against the proud and haughty; but give grace to the humble (James 4:6).  Your grace, O Lord, is truly enough in any situation, for any circumstance.  When I feel weak, I will be glad and glorify Your name, so the power of Christ Jesus, my Savior, will rest upon me (2 Corinthians 12:9).

    My Savior is Your Son who is also Your incarnate Word, and He is full of grace and truth (John 1:14).  Thank you for allowing me to receive of His fullness – grace for grace (Romans 3:24).  How thankful I am, Lord God, that I have been justified freely by the grace of Christ Jesus (Romans 5:16). With this gift of overflowing grace, I am able to reign in this life (Romans 5:17), that is, I am able to resist the evil and cling to the good.  I can overcome evil and conquer evil with good (Romans 12:21).

    Because of Your loving mercy and grace, Father, my peace is constantly being multiplied (2 Peter 1:2).  Thank You, O God, for the power of Your grace which always protects me (1 Peter 1:5).  I submit myself therefore to You, O God.  I resist the devil and he must flee from me (James 4:7).  I resist the cares of the world which try to pressure me daily, choking Your Word so I become unfruitful (Mark 4:19). 

    I know that except You, Lord, build the house, we labor in vain who try to build it by ourselves (Psalm 127:1). Therefore, I cease from the weariness and pain of human labor (Hebrews 4:10) and am zealous and exert myself and strive diligently to enter into the rest of God – to know and experience it for myself (Hebrews 4:11). 

    In the mighty name of Jesus, I withstand the devil.  I stand firm in my faith against his onsets – rooted, established, strong, immoveable, and determined (1 Peter 5:9).  I will be silent before You, Lord, and I will wait expectantly for You (Psalm 37:7).  I will not fret since it only causes harm (Palm 37:8), nor shall I let my heart be troubled, neither shall I let it be afraid (John 14:27).  In every circumstance and in every care, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, I will continue to make my requests and needs known to You, O Lord my God, who loves me (Philippians 4:6). And Your peace will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, my Savior (Philippians 4:7).

    Father, I thank You that Your presence goes with me, and that You give me rest (Exodus 33:14). 

  • Praying for Abundance

    My God, You are the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.  I recognize You to be the giver of every good and perfect gift (James 1:17).  I rejoice in the realization that You want me to enjoy Your abundant life in the here-and-now, that Jesus came to show me this abundant life You have to offer us (John 10:10). I will celebrate Your abundant goodness, O God, and joyfully sing of Your righteousness (Psalm 145:7).

    God promises abundance if we will but trust Him and follow His ways.

    Heavenly Father, Jesus came down to earth to teach me, to guide me, to be my Shepherd (John 10:11).  With Him as my Shepherd I have no more want (Psalm 23:1), because You crown the bounteous year with Your goodness and Your paths drip with abundance (Psalm 65:11). My gracious God, You declare that You will satisfy Your people with abundance and we will be filled with Your bounty (Jeremiah 31:14); that a faithful man will abound with blessings (Proverbs 28:20). Therefore, may all blessings come upon me and overtake me because I strive to obey the voice of the Lord my God (Deuteronomy 28:2).

    Thank You for all Your unsearchable riches that You invite us to share and enjoy (Proverbs 8:18).  I will serve You obediently, for then my days will end in prosperity and my years in happiness (Job 36:11). 

    I receive Your abundance, Father, as I claim Your promises for my own.  Thank You for giving me fullness (John 1:16) and abundance in every area of my life; that all I need to do is ask of You (Matthew 7:11). I will not fear for You have given me all that is in Your Kingdom (Luke 12:32).  Thank You for blessing me so abundantly.

    Because of Your protective care of me (1 Peter 5:7), O Lord, and Your gracious supply of all my needs (Philippians 4:19), I know I will live in a good land and lack nothing (Deuteronomy 8:9).  You are immeasurably great (1 Chronicles 29:11), and You are greatly to be praised (Psalm 48:1).  It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High. To declare Your loving-kindness in the morning and Your faithfulness every night (Psalm 92:1-2).

    So, I praise You! I exalt Your name! Because Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You, O Lord my Redeemer. I will praise You as long as I live, and in Your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods, and with singing lips my mouth will praise You (Psalm 63:3-5).

  • Praying for Provision

    I confess with the psalmist that I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread (Psalm 37:25).  Father, thank You for food, clothing, and shelter that You faithfully supply.  In the name of Jesus, I have stopped being perpetually uneasy about my life – what I shall eat and what I shall drinking – or about my body – what I shall put on.  My life is greater in quality than food, and my body far above and more excellent than clothing (Matthew 6:25). 

    Let us trust in our Father for our daily sustenance, for He supplies richly.

    I will not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from Your mouth, my God (Matthew 4:4).  Your words were found and I did eat them, and Your Word was to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart, for I bear Your name, O Lord my God (Jeremiah 15:16). 

    It is You, heavenly Father, who will liberally supply all my needs according to Your riches in glory through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).  You are Jehovah-Jireh, my Provider (Matthew 6:33).  You know exactly what I need, when I need it, and how my needs will best be met (Matthew 6:8).   

    Father, You told us: [Your] Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14).  Jesus, You are the bread of life (John 6:48) that gives me life, the Living Bread (John 6:51).  Thank You, Lord Jesus, for coming for me and bringing me life. Thank You, loving Father, for Your spiritual Bread – my manna from heaven.

    The bread of idleness, gossip, discontent, and self-pity I will not eat (Proverbs 31:27).  I do not let my heart be troubled. I will trust in God, I will also trust in my Lord Jesus (John 14:1). Whatever I do in word or deed, I will do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him (Colossians 3:17).

    I sow bountifully and so I reap bountifully. I give cheerfully and my God makes all grace flow to me in abundance, so that in all things at all times, having all sufficiency in all that is needed, I abound to every good work (2 Corinthians 9:6-8). My glorious and gracious Father, I pray this promise knowing You supply all my needs, and You want me to let the abundance overflow to others.

    Your Word tells us that when a man fears the Lord, You will instruct him in the way chosen for him; and he will spend his days in prosperity (Psalm 25:12-13).  I claim the promises of Your Word today by imitating the faith of those who were before me (Hebrews 6:12).  I believe Your Word (Hebrews 11:6), and I look forward to all You are going to do in my life (Philippians 1:6).

    I claim the promises of Your Word for me, my family, and our lives; that I can partake of Your divine nature. I take my stand upon the solid promises of Your Word, dearest Father (2 Peter 1:4).  Thank You for meeting my every need.

    God has put a hedge around me and my family, and my house, and everything I have and all I have inherited through His kindnesses. God blesses the work of my hands because I keep His commandments (Job 1:10). You are abundantly gracious to me, O Lord my God, and I do humbly thank You. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every good and upright thing (Psalm 145:16).

    Great is Your faithfulness, O God my Father.  Morning by morning new mercies I see (Lamentations 3:23).

  • Praying for Daily Needs

    Lord God, You are my faithful Father.  You keep all Your promises and Your covenant of love with me as long as I love You and keep Your commandments (Deuteronomy 7:9).  Thank You for Your daily care and attention to my needs (Matthew 6:32). Lead me to always seek Your kingdom first, so all things will be given to me as I have need of them (Matthew 6:33). I rejoice in the knowledge that You always supply all my needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus, my Lord and Savior (Philippians 4:19). 

    Let us bask in His light, and He will supply all our needs.

    It is a great comfort to me to know You know all of my needs even before I express them to You (Matthew 6:8).  I delight in the truth that You delight in the well-being (health and happiness) of Your servants (Psalm 35:27).   Father, thank You for Your Word which declares that if I will trust in You and do good, I will dwell securely in the land.  I will gladly delight myself in You, my Lord, and I am thrilled to realize that You are giving me the desires of my heart. Therefore, I commit my way to You and I trust in You (Psalm 37:3-5), because I know You will perfect that which concerns me, O Lord; You will fulfill Your purpose for me (Psalm 138:8). You have a vested interest in me.

    So, I bless You, loving Father, for You have blessed me with every spiritual blessing possible in Christ Jesus, my Redeemer (Ephesians 1:3).  You have made me a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17), born again of Your incorruptible Word (1 Peter 1:23).  Your mercy, O Lord God, is reaches through the heavens; and Your faithfulness reaches through the skies (Psalm 36:5).  I praise You for the sheer joy of knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I can ask or even imagine, according to Your power which is at work in my life (Ephesians 3:20).  You are my joy and my delight; I will praise You, O God, my God (Psalm 43:4).  Thank You, loving Lord.

    I so want to take Jesus’ good counsel and not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own (Matthew 6:34). So, I pray for today: O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this Your servant, and to the prayer of all Your servants who delight in revering Your name. Give Your servants success today by granting us favor in the presence of men (Nehemiah 1:11).

    Wisdom for daily living:

    God You are the end of all that is good, the height of all life, the depth of all that can be spoken. Heavenly Father, help us to remember:

    • The jerk who cut us off in traffic could be a single mother who worked nine hours straight and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework do laundry, and spend a few precious moments with her children.
    • The pierced, tattooed, disinterested youth who can’t make change correctly could be a worried 19 year old college student balancing apprehension over final exams with fear of not getting a student loan for next semester.
    • The scary looking sum, begging for money in the same spot every day could be a slave of addictions we can only imagine in our worst nightmares.
    • The old couple, walking amazingly slow through the aisles and blocking progress could be soaring this moment, knowing that – based on the biopsy report from last week – this may be the last time they shop together.

    Remind us each day of all the gifts You give the greatest of which is Your life-changing love.  It is real enough to share with those we hold dear.  Open our hearts not just to those who are close, but to all those around us this day. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, to share patience, and to supply sympathy.

  • Praying to Love my Enemies

    I love the brotherhood (1 Peter 2:17), the saints who are in the land are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight (Psalm 16:3). It is easy to love those who love me. May the Lord cause us all to increase and abound in love for one another, and for everyone else (1 Thessalonians 3:12). But Your Word specifically says: Love my enemies and pray for those who persecute me (Matthew 5:44).

    O Lord God, please send Your Holy Spirit to teach me how to love my enemies – to be kind and to do good in every situation; to lend expecting nothing in return; to consider nothing as lost, and to despair of no one.  Then my reward will be great – rich, strong, intense, and abundant – and I will be a true child of Yours; for You are kind and charitable and good to the ungrateful and selfish and wicked (Luke 6:35).  Merciful Father, teach me to be merciful – sympathetic, tender, responsive, and compassionate.  I aim to be an imitator of You, my loving Father (Luke 6:36).

    Father, for Your sake I bless and pray for those who persecute me – who are cruel in their attitude toward me.  I speak Your blessings on them, and I do not curse them (Romans 12:14).  I know that if I do this, my love will abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment (Philippians 1:9).  With Your Spirit guiding me, Father, I will let no debt remain outstanding except the continuing debt to love others; for he who loves his fellow man has fulfilled Your law.  All Your commandments are summed up in this one rule: Love your neighbor as yourself.  Love does no harm to its neighbor.  Therefore, love is the fulfillment of Your law (Romans 13:8-10).

    We are called to be free, but not to use that freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather we use it to serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: Love your neighbor as yourself (Galatians 5:13-14). And the goal of Your command is love, which comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith (1 Timothy 1:5).

    May Your Spirit help me to set an example for other believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity (1 Timothy 4:12). By speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is our Head… the growth of the Body for the building up of itself in love (Ephesians 4:15-16). I know that knowledge puffs up, but love builds up (1 Corinthians 8:1). Teach me to love Lord. Teach me to be completely humble and gentle; to be patient, to show forbearance to others in love (Ephesians 4:2). I will make every effort to keep the unity of Your Spirit with all men through the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:3).

  • Praying to Walk in Love

    Gracious and loving Father, Your word tells us plainly what is required of us: (1) Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength; (2) love your neighbor as yourself.  There is no commandment greater than these (Mark 12:30-31).

    Therefore, I eagerly pursue and seek to acquire this (agape) love (1 Corinthians 14:1).  I make it my aim, my great quest in life: I will do unto others as I would have them do unto me (Luke 6:31).  Father, I wish to follow Your ways, and esteem and look upon and be concerned for not merely my own interest, but also for the interest of others (Philippians 2:4) as they pursue their goals.  I aim to be strong in the Lord, and in the power of Your might (Ephesians 6:10).  I will, on purpose, to make it a practice to please my fellowman, for his good and for his true welfare, to edify him – that is, to strengthen him and build him up in all ways – spiritually, socially, and materially (Romans 15:2).  With Your power and wisdom, Holy Father, I want to be used to encourage and edify others (1 Thessalonians 5:11). 

    As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, we are to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; to bear with one another and forgive whatever grievances we may have against one another. And above everything, to put on love, which binds all virtues together in perfect unity (Colossians 3:12-14). Your Word asks us to love even the stranger who resides among us (Leviticus 19:34). As long as we are fulfilling the Royal Law (as Your Word calls it) – you shall love your neighbor as yourself – we do well (James 2:8).

    Father, this is Your next command: that we believe in the name of Your Son – Jesus Christ – and love one another just as Jesus commanded us (1 John 3:23). Jesus’ command – which He gave just before He died for us – was that we love one another; in the same way that He loves us (John 15:12-13). This has been the same message from the beginning: that we should love one another (1 John 3:11). And this is love: that we walk according to His commandment.  This is the commandment: that we should walk in love (2 John 5-6).

    Father, Your Word tells me love must be sincere, to be devoted to one another in love (Romans 12:9-10). Please teach me to maintain love and justice, and to wait for Your counsel always (Hosea 12:6). Direct me to love truth and peace as Your Word instructs (Zechariah 8:19), but to do all things in love (1 Corinthians 16:14). For in Christ Jesus neither good nor bad [black nor white] means anything, but faith working through love is the only thing that counts (Galatians 5:6).

    And help me consider how to stimulate others to love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24).

  • Praying to Be Filled with God’s Love

    Loving Father, thank You for Your limitless love which is from everlasting to everlasting (Jeremiah 31:3).  Thank You for pouring Your love abroad in my heart through Your Holy Spirit which has been given to me (Romans 5:5).   Because You have shown me that You are love (1 John 4:8), and that love is the most excellent way (1 Corinthians 12:31), I choose to obey You by walking in love as Christ Jesus has loved me (Ephesians 5:2).

    Jesus told us to love one another even as He loved us, and that all men will know we are His disciples if we have love for one another (John 13:34-35). For the love of Christ compels me to love as He loved (2 Corinthians 5:14). I know that through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for (Proverbs 16:6). Your Word tells us to love as brothers (1 Peter 3:8), to love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). I also know love covers all wrongs (Proverbs 10:12), and that You asked us to do everything in love (1 Corinthians 16:14).

    Thank You, Father, for giving me love as a fruit of Your Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22), who dwells in me (John 14:17).  Father, I am Your child and through Your power, I commit to walk in the God kind of love.  Please grant me the grace to be patient and kind, to love others without envy or jealousy, to not be puffed up and haughty, to not behave rudely, and to not ever be self-seeking.  Through the power of Your grace and love, I will walk in love, rejoicing in the truth, bearing up under all circumstances, always believing and trusting, always hoping, and always enduring all things (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).  Father God, I thank You that love never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8).  Beginning today, Father, I will make walking in love my greatest quest.

    Father, I try to keep and treasure Your Word in my heart.  Thus Your Word promises that the love of and for You, Father, will be perfected and completed in me (1 John 2:5), and that perfect love will cast out all fear (1 John 4:18).

    Therefore, everywhere I go I intend to plant seeds of love this day (1 Corinthians 3:6).  I thank You, Father, for preparing hearts ahead of time (Daniel 1:9) to receive this love.  I know that these seeds will produce Your love in the hearts to whom they are given (Isaiah 55:11).  Father, I thank You that as I flow in Your love and wisdom, people are being blessed by my life and ministry.  It is You who makes me to find favor, compassion, and lovingkindness with others.  I pray that, being rooted deep in love and founded securely in love (Ephesians 3:17), I will have power in Christ to do this, knowing that You are on my side (Romans 8:31) and that nothing is able to separate me from Your love (Romans 8:39).  Thank You so very much, Father.
