The power of evil is in the lie. The power of the believer is in the truth. Be strong in scripture to deny deception!
The devil was a murderer from the beginning. He has never been truthful. He doesn’t know what the truth is. Whenever he tells a lie, he’s doing what comes naturally to him. He is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44).
Satan is a master of the urgent, not the important. Satan’s strategy is to keep us distracted with the urgency of the moment vs. the importance of eternity. One of the marks of maturity is the quiet confidence that God is in control – without the need to understand why He does what He does. When you are down to nothing God is up to something.
You belong to the day and the light, not to the night and the dark (1 Thessalonians 5:5). Can light have anything in common with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14).
God said, “Let light shine out of darkness” (2 Corinthians 4:6). Open your eyes and turn them from darkness to light and from Satan’s control to God’s (Acts 26:18).
Never doubt in the dark what God told you in the light. And believe that the night is as useful as the day. I have gained something truly significant that I might not have gained from flawless expositions: shadows have indicated something more about the light.
What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight (Matthew 10:27).
