Failure Is Not Final

In his weakness man is not able to sustain any relationship without eventually needing to forgive and be forgiven. Failing doesn’t make us failures; it makes us experienced.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my spirit (Psalm 73:26).

Failure is the line of least persistence. Good judgment usually comes from experience.  Unfortunately, experience usually comes from bad judgment. Yet that is all we are – the sum of our experiences. Time, talent, treasures — all these are entrusted to us with the expectation of getting them back improved upon.

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail (Lamentations 3:22). Strengthen me according to Your Word (Psalm 119:28) O Lord, for Your promises preserve my life (Psalm 119:50). You are my stronghold, my defense, the God who shows me loving-kindness (Psalm 59:17).

Dismiss feelings of frustration – 90 percent of it is rooted in self-pity and always interferes with positive action. Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

I earnestly pray that I walk worthy of You, my Lord God, fully pleasing You and desiring to please You in all things, and being fruitful in every good work. I aim to increase my knowledge of You, loving God. And so I pray that I am being strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might, that I may have great endurance and patience (Colossians 1:10-11).

I love You, O Lord, my strength! You are my [unmoving] Rock, my [surrounding] fortress, and my [ever-present] deliverer. You, O God, are my rock in whom I take refuge [from all weariness]. You are my shield [from all unpleasantness] and the horn of my salvation [from all difficulties], my [glorious] stronghold (Psalm 18:1-2). I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation… I can do everything though Him who gives me strength (Philippians 4:12-13).

Father God, help us to be the best we can at this moment.

May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17).
