  • Praying for Wholeness of Mind

    Father, my heart is filled with gratitude for all You have done for me.  You have qualified me to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of Your light (Colossians 1:12).  You have delivered me from the power of darkness and have translated me into the kingdom of Your dear Son (Colossians 1:13).  Through the blood of Jesus, You have provided me with redemption and forgiveness for all my sins (Colossians 1:14). 

    Love for Jesus fills us – to overflowing.

    Thank You, Father, for Jesus who is the perfect image of Yourself, and He is the first-born over all creation (Colossians 1:15).  By Him all things in heaven and in earth were created; all things were created by Him, and for Him (Colossians 1:16). Jesus is before all things and by Him all things hold together (Colossians 1:17).  Jesus is the faithful witness, the ruler of all the kings of the earth (Revelation 1:5), as well as the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End of everything (Revelation 22:13).  From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another (John 1:16).

    I am so thankful, Father, that it pleased You to let all fullness dwell in Your Son, Jesus (Colossians 1:19).  Thank You that, through His blood, peace with You is now possible. Through Jesus You have reconciled all things to Yourself; all people on earth, and all souls in heaven can now be gathered to You (Colossians 1:20). 

    Through His great redemption I now have wholeness.  Indeed, I am complete in Him (Colossians 2:10).  Just as I received Christ Jesus as my Lord, I will continue to live in Him, to be rooted and built up in Him, to be strengthened in faith as I have been taught, and to overflow with thankfulness (Colossians 2:6-7). In every part of my life, Father, I ask You to help me to give Jesus the preeminence in everything (Colossians 1:18) that He deserves. 

    As Your chosen people, holy and dearly loved, I ask You to send Your Spirit to clothe me with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12). I know we are to bear with one another and forgive whatever grievances we have against others. We are to forgive as You, Gracious Father, forgive us (Colossians 3:13). And above all these virtues, please teach me to put on love, which binds all of them together in perfect unity (Colossians 3:14).

    For I know these are the weapons of my warfare; these weapons are not carnal, but mighty through You to the pulling down of strongholds – intimidations, fears, doubts, unbelief, and failures (2 Corinthians 10:4).  I wish to refute every argument and theory and reasoning and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the true knowledge of You; and I want to lead every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One (2 Corinthians 10:5).

    Today I pray to be transformed by the renewing of my mind, that I may prove what is Your good and acceptable and perfect Will (Romans 12:2).  Let not Your Word, O Lord, depart out of my mouth, but direct me to meditate on it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written therein.  Then I shall make my way prosperous; then I shall have good success (Joshua 1:8), for the plans of the diligent certainly lead to profit (Proverbs 21:5). 

    So I will not fret or have anxiety about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, I will continue to make my wants known unto You, O gracious Lord, and Your peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over my heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).  Today I fix my mind on whatever is true, worthy, honorable, just, pure, lovely, kind, winsome, and gracious.  If there is any virtue and excellence, anything worthy of praise, I will think on and weigh and take account of these things (Philippians 4:8) that I may bring You a smile! 

  • Praying for a Calming Spirit

    I need neither to fear men’s threats nor worry about them; I simply need to concentrate on being completely devoted to Christ in my heart (1 Peter 3:14-15 Phillips). Help me and teach me, Lord Jesus, to take Your yolk upon me and to learn from You; for You are gentle and humble in heart, and I will find rest for my soul in You (Matthew 11:29).

    God wants us to have a peaceful spirit, to radiate peace to those around us.

    I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears (Psalm 34:4).  I will be sure to fear only my Lord God and serve Him faithfully with all my heart; I will trust the Lord my God and sincerely worship Him. I will think often of all the tremendous things He has done for me (1 Samuel 12:24). The Lord Almighty is the one I am to regard as holy, Only He should be feared; only He should be held in awe (Isaiah 8:13).

    The Lord is (1) good, (2) a refuge in times of trouble, and (3) He cares for those who trust in Him (Nahum 1:7). The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your love, O Lord, endures forever – I know You will not abandon the works of Your hands (Psalm 138:8).

    How great is Your goodness, O Lord, which You have stored up for those who fear You; which You bestow in the sight of all men on those who take refuge in You. In the shelter of Your presence You hide us from the intrigues of men; in Your dwelling You keep us safe from accusing tongues (Psalm 31: 19-20).

    The Great God has redeemed me from the hand of my adversary, therefore I will have no more fear of the devil (Psalm 107:2). I let the peace of Christ Jesus rule in my heart since as a member of His body I was called to peace. And I am thankful/grateful/praiseful (Colossians 3:15). I refuse to worry or fall into fear over anything.

    I will have no fear of bad news, for my heart is steadfast, trusting in You, my Lord God. My heart is secure. I will have no fear. In the end I will look with triumph on my foe [the devil] (Psalm 112:7-8). I will go on my way in safety, and my foot will not stumble. When I lie down, I will not be afraid. When I lie down, my sleep will be sweet. I will have no fear of sudden disaster, nor of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the Lord will be my confidence and will keep my foot from being snared (Proverbs 3:23-26) as long as I trust in Him.

    Lord God, blessed am I when I take refuge in You, for the angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear You, and delivers them. Fear the Lord, you His saints, for those who fear Him lack nothing. I am here to testify that those who seek You, Gracious God, lack no good thing (Psalm 34:7-10).  Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall (Psalm 55:22).

    I am convinced nothing can separate us from God’s love: death can’t, life can’t; angels nor demons can’t; fears for the day nor worries about tomorrow, nor even the powers of hell can’t keep God’s love away from us. I know that whether I am high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate me from the love of God that is revealed through Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:38-39)

    The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need. He lets me rest in green meadows. He leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to His name. Even when I walk through the dark valley of death, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Your rod and Your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You welcome me as a guest, anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will gladly dwell in the house of the Lord forever (Psalm 23:1-6).

  • Praying Against a Spirit of Fear

    Fear is faith in the enemy’s abilities! We live our lives not simply according to what we know, but what we truly believe. Genuine belief is life-altering conviction, for how we walk on the hot pavement of life evidences what we truly believe. Proverbs 10:11, 21, and 24 warn you that the thing you fear will come upon you, all you have to do is voice it out loud.  Fear will activate the devil. So instead, believe in the Lord our God, the Almighty One, and voice His Words of promise and hope.

    We have nothing to fear, for God Himself leads us.

    Lord God, You tell me so many times: Do not fear… I will help you (Isaiah 41:14). Do not fear, for I am with you (Isaiah 43:5). Do not fear (Isaiah 44:2); do not be startled or afraid (Isaiah 44:8).

    Please swell my soul with belief and help me trust emphatically in Your deliverance, O God my Savior (Psalm 78:18-22). Do not be far from me, O Lord my Champion, for trouble is near and there is no one to help (Psalm 22:11). I trust in You, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in Your hands (Psalm 31:14-15).

    To You, O my Lord, I lift up my soul; in You, O my God, I trust. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemy triumph over me (Psalm 25:1-2). Guard my life and rescue me, O Lord my God. Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in You. May Your integrity and uprightness protect me, because all my hope is in You alone (Psalm 25:20-21).

    You, Lord God, promised to go before me; that You will be with me and not leave me or forsake me. Therefore I will not be afraid or discouraged (Deuteronomy 31:8).

    God, You are my refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore I will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, still I will not fear (Psalm 46:1-2). You are my hiding place; You promised to protect me and surround me with songs of deliverance (Psalm 32:7).

    You, Lord, are the stronghold of my life (Psalm 27:1). When I am afraid, I will trust in You, my God. I will praise You and Your Word. In You I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can mortal man do to me? (Psalm 56: 3-4)  Indeed, God is my salvation. I will trust Him and not be afraid (Isaiah 12:2).

    I will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys in sunlight. A thousand may fall at my side, ten thousand at my right hand, but it will not come near me (Psalm 91:5-7). Because I make the Most High my dwelling place — even the Lord, who is my refuge — no harm will befall me. No disaster will come near my dwelling. For the Lord will command His angels concerning me, to guard me in all my ways (Psalm 91:9-11). “Because he loves Me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges My name” (Psalm 91:14).

    In God’s righteousness I have been established. So tyranny and oppression will be far from me. I have nothing to fear; terror is far removed; it will not come near me… No weapon forged against me will prevail, and I will refute every tongue that accuses me. “This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from Me,” declares the Lord of Hosts (Isaiah 54:14, 17).

    The Lord says: “Do not be afraid; you will not suffer shame. Do not fear disgrace, You will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.” For my Maker is my husband [my spouse, my champion] — the Lord Almighty is His name — the Holy One of Israel is my Kinsman Redeemer, and He is called “The God of All the Earth.” (Isaiah 54:4-5)

    Lord God, You created me, and formed me. You told me: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by name, you are Mine!” — I am Yours! When I pass through the waters [of depression], You will be with me. And when I pass through the rivers [of sorrow], they will not sweep over me [to drown me]. When I walk through the fires [of adversity], I will not be burned; for You are the Lord, my God, the Holy One of Israel, my Savior. I am precious and honored in Your sight! (Isaiah 43:1-4).

    The Lord has come to rescue me from the hand of my enemy, and to enable me to serve my Lord and King without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him all my days (Luke 1:74-75). Now, just as I trusted Christ Jesus to save me, I can trust Him also for each day’s problems; I choose to live in vital union with Him. I can let my roots grow down into Him and draw up nourishment from Him.

    For the Holy Spirit, God’s gift, does not want me to be afraid of people, but to be wise and strong, and to love them and enjoy being with them (2 Timothy 1:7 Phillips). So I have no fear, because I have His love flowing in me.

    Glorious God, You said, “I have chosen You and have not rejected you.” So I will not fear, for God is with me. I will not be dismayed for Adonai is my El Shaddai. The mighty One will strengthen me and help me. The God of the Universe will uphold me with His righteous right hand. One day because of You, Lord God Almighty, I will search for my enemies and will not find them. For You are the Lord, my God who takes hold of my right hand and says to me, “Do not fear; I will help you” (Isaiah 41:9-13).

  • A Prayer Against Sudden Fear

    Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).  God is on my side. If God is for me, who can be against me and win? (Romans 8:31) Fear of man proves to be a snare, but fear of the Lord keeps me safe (Proverbs 29:25). Because of who You are, and because of all You do for me, I no longer need to fear.

    Fear not, for God Almighty is always with us.

    Father, I know from Your Word that You have thoughts and plans for my welfare and peace. I will say to my fearful heart, “Be strong, do not fear; God will come, with divine retribution He will come to save me” (Isaiah 35:4). Lord God, strengthen me physically according to Your Word (Psalm 119:28).

    For the Lord my God has arrived to live among us! He came to free us who all our lives were held in slavery by our fear of death (Hebrews 2:15). He is a mighty savior. He will rejoice over me with great gladness. With His love He will calm all my fears. He will exalt over me by singing a happy song (Zephaniah 3:17).

    I believe I dwell in the secret place of the Most High.  I shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1), whose power no foe can withstand – this secret place hides me and keeps me safe (Psalm 31:20). 

    I am strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in my inner being by the Holy Spirit Himself, who dwells in me (Ephesians 3:16).  By His Word, I can be empowered through my union with Almighty God – His marvelous superhuman, supernatural power (Ephesians 6:10). 

    I believe the wisdom of God’s Word dwells in me, and because it does, I realize I can live without fear or dread of evil.  In all my ways I know and acknowledge God and His Word; thus He will direct and make straight and plain my pathway (Proverbs 3:6).  As I attend to God’s Word, it is health to my nerves and sinews, and nourishment to my bones (Proverbs 3:8).

    Father, I will not draw back or shrink in fear, for then You would have no delight or pleasure in me (Hebrews 10:38). I bless Your name, Jehovah-Shammah (Ezekiel 48:35), my companion who will always be near. 

    God Himself has said “I will never leave you without support or forsake you or let you down, my child.  I will not, no, not in any degree leave you helpless or relax my hold on you … assuredly not!” (Hebrews 13:5). 

    You are always there.  I take comfort and am encouraged and confidently and boldly say, the Lord is my Helper, so I will not be seized with alarm: I will not fear or dread or be terrified. I am not afraid of anything that mere mortal can do to me (Hebrews 13:6).  Hallowed be Thy precious name!

    Though a host encamp against me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident… I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I will wait for the Lord; I will be strong and let my heart take courage; yes, I will wait for the Lord (Psalm 27:3, 13-14).

    This word of God that I have spoken is alive and full of power.  It is active and operative; it energizes me and affects my world.  As I speak God’s Word, it is sharper than any two-edged sword, and it is penetrating into my joints and into the marrow of my bones (Hebrews 4:12).  It is life to me and health to my flesh (Proverbs 4:22).  It is the magnificent Word of The Almighty One.  According to His Word that I have spoken, so be it done unto me.  Amen.

  • Praying Against Intimidation

    Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus, confessing that intimidation has caused me to stumble. Your Word says that if I confess my sin to You, You will purify me from my unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).  I ask Your forgiveness for thinking of myself as inferior.  For I am created in Your image (Colossians 3:10), and I am Your workmanship (Ephesians 2:10).  Jesus said the kingdom of God is in me (Luke 17:21).  Therefore the power that raises Jesus from the dead dwells in me (Ephesians 1:19), and causes me to face life with hope and divine energy (Colossians 1:29).

    Do not let anything intimidate you. God will always clear a path before you.

    Establish Your Word to Your servant, O Lord, who is devoted to fearing You (Psalm 119:38). Help me hide Your Word in my heart, dearest Father, so that I might not sin against You (Psalm 119:11). Your Word tells me: Do not fear disgrace by men and do not be shattered by their taunts (Isaiah 51:7).

    Hear my voice, O God, preserve my life from dread of the enemy (Psalm 64:1). Lord, take note of their threats, and grant me confidence (Acts 4:29). But even if I should suffer for the sake of righteousness, I will be blessed, so I will not fear their intimidation (1 Peter 3:14). For they try to frighten me, thinking I will become discouraged, and Your work will not get done (Nehemiah 6:9), that I might become frightened and act accordingly and sin (Nehemiah 6:13) by not doing what You gave me to do.

    Father, You have not given me a spirit of timidity – of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear – but You have given me a spirit of power and of love and of a calm and well-balanced mind and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).  I can do all things through Christ Jesus who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13).

    You, Lord God, are my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  You are the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1).  Lord, You said You would never leave me nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5).  So I can say without any doubt or fear that You are my helper, and I am not afraid of anything that mere mortal can do to me (Hebrews 13:6).  Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).  If God is for me, who can be against me (Romans 8:31).  Fear of man proves to be a snare, but fear of the Lord keeps me safe (Proverbs 29:25). Because of You and all You do for me, I am free from the fear of man and public opinion.

    Lord, You have given and bequeathed to me Your peace.  By Your grace I will not let my heart be troubled (John 14:1).  With the help of Your Holy Spirit, I will stop allowing myself to be agitated and disturbed. Instead, by faith, I will exalt and triumph in my troubles and rejoice in my sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patience and unswerving endurance.  And endurance develops maturity of character.  And character produces the habit of joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation.  Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames me.  For Your love has been poured out in my heart through the Holy Spirit who has been given to me (Romans 5:3-5).

    Lord, You lift up those who are bowed down (Psalm 146:8). So I will be of good courage because You strengthen my heart (Psalm 31:24). You have thoughts and plans for my welfare and peace (Jeremiah 29:11). My mind is stayed on You (Isaiah 26:3). So, I can stop allowing myself to be agitated and disturbed and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled (John 14:27 Amplified). Satan, I resist you and every oppressive spirit in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus. I resist fear, discouragement, self-pity, and oppression (James 4:7). I speak the Word of truth and I give you no place, devil; I give no opportunity to you (Ephesians 4:27). Because the Spirit of the Lord is upon me (1 John 4:13), I am delivered from oppression and intimidation (Luke 4:18). And I will praise the Lord!

  • Praying for Peace of Mind

    You promised to make a covenant of peace with us (Ezekiel 34:25). “My people will dwell in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places,” declares the Lord (Isaiah 32:18). Lord, ordain peace for me, for all I am and all I have come from You (Isaiah 26:12),

    Trust in Him, for He leads us to peaceful paths.

    Please give me peace flowing like a river, for I have vowed to listen to Your laws (Isaiah 48:18), because those who love Your Word always find great peace of heart and mind, and do not stumble (Psalm 119:165).  You always keep me in perfect peace when I keep my mind stayed on You in an attitude of complete trust in You (Isaiah 26:3). Peace of mind is very precious to me, dear Lord, so I ask You to keep me trusting in You always.

    Lord God, You said the mind governed by the spirit is life and peace (Romans 8:6). With Your gracious hand, gracious Lord, guide my spirit to govern my mind. For I know You have thoughts and plans for my welfare and peace (Jeremiah 29:11), for You promise: “I will let them experience the abundance of peace and truth.” (Jeremiah 33:6)

    In Christ Jesus I have peace (Ephesians 2:14). Being justified by faith, I have peace with You, Father, through my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1).  I will let the peace of Christ Jesus rule in my heart, since as a member of His body I am called to peace. And I will be thankful / grateful / praiseful. I will refuse to worry about anything. (Colossians 3:15).

    Jesus told me all these things through His Word so that in Him I may have peace in this world. I most likely will see trouble, but I will take heart for He has overcome the world (John 16:33) and I through Him. He will guide my feet into the path of peace (Luke 1:79).

    Peace You leave with me, Lord Jesus; Your peace You give to me. Therefore, I will not let my heart be troubled or fearful (John 14:27). I humble myself before You, Lord, and so delight myself in the abundant peace You give to me (Psalm 37:11). 

    I will strive to keep my ways pleasing to You, Lord, for then You will make even my enemies to be at peace with me (Proverbs 16:7). I will be careful to do what is right. As far as possible as it depends on me, I will live at peace with all men (Romans 12:17-18). I will depart from evil and do good; I will seek peace and pursue it (Psalm 34:14).

    I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O Lord, make me to dwell in safety (Psalm 4:8). Lord God, please help me to remember You when I go to bed (Psalm 63:6). Occupy my thoughts through the watched of the night, because when my mind is on You I don’t worry about other things.

    God of all hope, fill me with Your joy and peace as I trust in You, so I may overflow to others by the power of Your Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13). For the Kingdom of God is not in eating and drinking, but in righteousness, peace, and joy in Your Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17).

    Heavenly Father, thank You for Your peace which surpasses all understanding and keeps my heart and mind through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). And things which are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, if they be of good report or have good virtue or are praiseworthy, I will think on these things (Philippians 4:8).

    My God of Peace, please sanctify me through and through (1 Thessalonians 5:23). Thank You for the fruit of peace You give to me through Your Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22).  I receive Your promise of peace of mind, merciful Lord.  Thank You for Your blessings of peace.

  • Praying for Patience

    Loving God and Father, I am now one of Your chosen people. O God, I acknowledge and accept as fact that I am wholly and dearly loved by You. In response, I will dedicate my time to You, to learn from You. Please teach me how to clothe myself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. “To put on the nature that is mercy in action, kindly in heart, and humble in spirit… and above everything else to be truly loving” (Colossians 3:12 Phillips).

    Let God’s patience have its perfect work — and we come out beautiful!

    I know that a gentle and quiet spirit is very valuable in Your eyes, O Lord (1 Peter 3:4). Your Word tells me: The end of something is better than its beginning; that patience is better than pride (Ecclesiastes 7:8). You also tell me patience as a fruit of Your Holy Spirit that dwells in me (Galatians 5:22).  Please empower me, dearest Father, so I may walk worthy of the calling with which I was called; guide me to be completely humble and gentle; to be patient (Ephesians 4:1-2).

    With Your graces and mercy, I will learn to be patient and kind, to not be puffed up and haughty, to not behave rudely, but bearing up under all circumstances, always believing and trusting, always hoping, and always enduring all things (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). From Your Word, I know we are to be patient teachers of those who are mixed up concerning the truth (2 Timothy 2:24-25 TLB).

    Father, I will exercise faith in Your promises so I may grow in virtue, knowledge and self-control. In this way, I know You will help me to develop greater patience, endurance, and godliness in all areas of my life (2 Peter 1:5-7). I truly want to follow the example of those who through faith and patience inherit Your promises, Father (Hebrews 6:12).

    Thank You for strengthening me with all might according to Your glorious power, so that I may enter into the realm of endurance and patience (Colossians 1:11). Therefore, I will be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer (Romans 12:12). I will learn to rejoice in suffering, because Your Word tells me that suffering produces perseverance and patience (Romans 5:3).

    Heavenly Father, I will hear Your Word and obey it, so I will be able to bring forth fruit with patience (Luke 8:15); by my steadfastness and patient endurance I shall win the true life of my soul (Luke 21:19).  I will let patience have its perfect work in me, so I will be complete, wanting nothing (James 1:4).

    Through Your Spirit, Father, I will run with patient endurance and steady persistence the appointed course You have set before me.  I will keep my eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Finisher of my faith (Hebrews 12:1-2).  Dearest Lord Jesus, I will patiently watch and wait for Your coming, as a farmer watches and waits for the fruit of the earth to come forth after the early and latter rains (James 5:7).  I will let my patience be on display for all to see, for I know Your coming is near (Philippians 4:5).

    Your Word tells me to rest in You and wait patiently for You, dear God (Psalm 37:7), that if I wait patiently, You will incline to me and hear my cry (Psalm 40:1). So, I will wait on You, Lord God, and I know that as I wait, You will strengthen my heart to walk in patience (Psalm 27:14). 

    Thank You for each promise You have given, for I know every one of Your promises are “yes” in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20).  As I wait upon You, Lord, please renew my strength, that I may mount up with wings like an eagle; when I run, I may not be weary, and when I walk, I may not grow faint (Isaiah 40:31).  With Your grace and mercies, I will walk in the patience You impart to me each day of my life.

  • Praying to Walk in Integrity

    I know, my God, that You test the heart, and that You are pleased with integrity (1 Chronicles 29:17). Your Word informs us that the man of integrity walks securely (Proverbs 10:9), and that righteousness guards the man of integrity (Proverbs 13:6). And You tell us that the righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him (Proverbs 20:7).

    Let us display integrity and uprightness to those around us.

    Dear God, I desire to walk in integrity, and to follow its guidance in my life by always choosing to do what is right (Proverbs 11:3). According to my dictionary, Integrity is “the state of being compete or undivided”. To me that suggests righteousness, uprightness, to do without wavering, to be blameless — to have singleness of heart or mind.

    You promised that we could be Your people and You would be our God (Zechariah 13:9); to give us singleness of heart and action, so we will always fear You for our own good and the good of our children (Jeremiah 32:38-39).

    I wish to be like Jesus, who was known as man of integrity that teaches the way of God in accordance with the truth (Matthew 22:16). In everything You give me to do, I wish to set an example by doing what is good (Titus 2:7). I want to be able to stand boldly before You and confidently say: “Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, according to my integrity, O Most High” (Psalm 7:8). I want to lead a blameless life, to trust in You without wavering (Psalm 26:1). Like David, I want to help shepherd Your people with integrity of heart (Psalm 78:72).

    I can only do this as I rely on You, for You alone are perfect (Psalm 50:2). Thank You for giving us the Lord Jesus, for by His offering He made forever perfect in Your sight all those whom He is now making holy (Hebrews 10:14 TLB). I confess I am not yet perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me (Philippians 3:12). I want to take to heart Jesus’ words: to (act and do) be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity] as You, Father, are perfect (Matthew 5:48 AMP).

    Please, dear Father, forgive my sins of disobedience and teach me the right way to live (2 Chronicles 6:27). Teach me Your ways, O Lord, and lead me in a straight path to You (Psalm 27:11). As You teach me to be true to what is right, I will be able to walk in integrity.  Then, as I to walk in integrity, I will let the Word of Christ Jesus dwell in me richly in all wisdom (Colossians 3:16), and whatever I do in word or deed I will do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to You, Father, through Him (Colossians 3:17).  I realize this is a key to personal integrity in my life.

    O God, keep my soul, and deliver me.  Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You. Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait on You (Psalm 25:20-21).  Show me Your ways, O Lord, and teach me Your paths.  Lead me in Your truth and teach me for You are the God of my salvation, and I wait on You (Psalm 25:4-5).  Dear Father, Your Word is truth (John 17:17), and it guides me.  Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and light unto my path (Ps 119:105), and I want to walk always in the light of Your Word. 

    I thank You that You promise to uphold me in my integrity and set me in Your presence (Psalm 41:12).

  • Praying to Walk in Meekness

    Heavenly Father, I want to walk in the fruit of meekness (gentleness, humility) (Galatians 5:23).  You promise amazing things to the meek, for You tell me the meek shall inherit the earth and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace (Psalm 37:11), and that they shall experience deep and abiding joy (Matthew 5:5).  The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord (Psalm 22:26). The meek You will guide in judgment; and will teach them Your ways (Psalm 25:9). You, Lord, lift up the meek (Psalm 147:6) and beautify the meek with salvation (Psalm 149:4). You stand up to defend the meek of the earth (Psalm 76:9). With righteousness You judge the poor and decide with fairness for the meek (Isaiah 11:4).

    Meekness is not being milk-toast. Meekness is controlled strength.

    Your Word warns us: Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth — Beg Him to save you, all you who have tried to obey. Walk in meekness and do what is right; perhaps then the Lord will protect you from His wrath in that day of doom (Zephaniah 2:3 TLB). The meek shall increase their joy in the Lord and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel (Isaiah 29:19).

    And so, as one whom You have chosen, holy and beloved, I desire to put on a heart of compassion, kindness, meekness, and patience (Colossians 3:12). Being one of Yours, O God, I desire to follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and meekness (1 Timothy 6:11); to speak evil of no man but showing meekness unto all men (Titus 3:2); to be beautiful in my heart with the lasting charm of a gentle and meek spirit which is very precious to You (1 Peter 3:4).

    Show me how, Father God, to be clothed with meekness so I will faithfully walk in gentleness (Colossians 3:13).  As I learn this, God Father, I will put on love which is the bond of perfection, and I will let Your peace rule in my heart, and I will be thankful (Colossians 3:14-15).  Your fruit of love is the source and foundation of all gentleness in my life (Galatians 5:22).  Therefore, I will let Your Word dwell richly within me in all wisdom, gentleness, and truth (Colossians 3:16).  With You alongside me, Lord, I will do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to You through Him (Colossians 3:17).

    Father, please let this fruit of Your Holy Spirit grow in me daily as I choose to walk worthy of Your calling (Ephesians 4:1) with meekness of heart.  Through Your mercies, O Father, show me how to walk in an attitude of complete humility, meekness and patience, always bearing with others through love (Ephesians 4:2).  I want to be like Jesus who is meek and lowly in heart.  I willingly take His yoke upon me, to learn from Him (Matthew 11:29).  Father, as Your servant, I will endeavor to walk in this fruit of meekness.  With Your graces I can exhibit the qualities of patience, meekness and kindness while instructing others who are mixed up concerning the truth (2 Timothy 2:25 TLB)

    Thank You, God Father.  With joy in my heart, I now put on the new person, which is being renewed in knowledge after Your image (Colossians 3:10).  I praise You, O God, that I am Your workmanship in Christ Jesus for good works which You have prepared for me to walk in (Ephesians 2:10).  I surrender to Your working, O God, as You cultivate the fruit of meekness in my life.

  • Praying to Overcome Pride

    Father, Your Word says that You hate a proud look (Proverbs 6:16-17), that You resist the proud but give grace to the humble (James 4:6).  Your Word tells me a proud heart is sin (Proverbs 21:4) and that pride goes before destruction (Proverbs 16:18), but humility ends in honor (Proverbs 18:12) and the meek become wise (Proverbs 11:2).

    What do we have that has not been given to us from our Father in the first place?

    I have learned from Your Word that pride leads to arguments (Proverbs 13:10); that he who is of a proud heart stirs up strife (Proverbs 28:25). Pride ends in a fall (Proverbs 29:23). Pride for this life is not of the Father (1 John 2:16), for You, Father, are Love, and love is patient and kind; it is not proud (1 Corinthians 13:4). As Nebuchadnezzar showed us, those who walk in pride You are able to abase (Daniel 4:37).

    You tell me to not be proud, to not be conceited (Romans 12:16). According to Your Word, pride is in the company of “thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, and foolishness” (Mark 7:22). In such company, I so want to refrain from conceit and pride (Psalm 101:5).

    You mock mockers, but give Your grace to the humble (Proverbs 3:34). So I humble myself before You (Proverbs 6:3), asking Your forgiveness and mercy that I may once more rejoice in You (Isaiah 29:19). This is the one You esteem: “he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at My Word “(Isaiah 66:2). So I come to seek righteousness and humility, that I may be sheltered on the day of Your anger (Zephaniah 2:3). What have You ever required of me but to act justly, show mercy, and walk humbly with You? (Micah 6:8)

    You tell us to be completely humble and gentle (Ephesians 4:2). So, I submit myself therefore to You, my God (James 4:7).  Hezekiah humbled himself because of the pride of his heart (2 Chronicles 32:26) and so I come to do the same, humbling myself before You (Exodus 10:3). I willingly humble myself before You, Lord, knowing You will lift me up (James 4:10).

    You guide the humble in what is right and teach them Your ways (Psalm 25:9). You sustain the humble (Psalm 147:6) and crown them with Your salvation (149:4). So, I humble myself under Your mighty hand, O my Lord (1 Peter 5:6).  As an act of faith, I clothe myself with humility and happily receive Your grace (1 Peter 5:5).  With Your Spirit guiding me: I refuse to exalt myself; I will not think of myself more highly than I ought; I will not have an exaggerated opinion of my own importance, but I will rate my ability with sober judgment, according to the degree of faith You appointed to me (Romans 12:3). 

    Father, thank You that You dwell with him who is of a contrite and humble spirit.  You receive the spirit of the humble and revive the heart of the contrite (Isaiah 57:15).  Thank You that the reward of humility and the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life (Proverbs 22:4). With Your graces, O my Father, I will strive to be compassionate and humble (1 Peter 3:8).

    I will humbly accept this word that has been planted in me (James 1:21). Please let Your Spirit guide me to resist pride when it comes.
