  • Praying to Bear Fruit

Heavenly Father, please forgive me for feeling dissatisfied.  I repent of my boredom and dissatisfaction as I once again realize those who seek You shall not want for any good thing (Psalm 34:10).  O God, You are my God.  Early I seek You.  My soul thirsts for You, and my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land.  I long to see Your power and Your glory.  Your loving-kindness is better than life to me.  Therefore my lips will bless You and praise You.  I will bless You as long as I live.  I will lift up my hands in Your name.  As I do so I know my soul will be satisfied as if with marrow and fatness, and my mouth will praise You with joyful lips (Psalm 63:1-5).  As Jesus pointed out, the harvest is indeed plentiful (Matthew 9:37). Please enable me to eat in plenty and to be satisfied.  I praise Your name, O Lord.  Thank You for dealing so wondrously with me (Joel 2:26).

Oh, what a life worth living – to be filled with the fruits of the Spirit!

Dearest God, thank You for Your power which has given me all things that pertain to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3).  You teach me that godliness is profitable and valuable in every way, for it holds promise for my present life and the life which is to come (1 Timothy 4:8).  Father, I repent for the many times when I have acted inappropriately by failing to exercise virtue in my situations; by unkind words, hatred, discord, jealousy or envy, fits of rage, selfish ambition… (Galatians 5:20-21). Lord Jesus, You came to save us from our sins. Please save me from these. And I ask You to forgive me and cleanse me of all my unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).  Thank You!

Now I take delight, gracious God, in Your exceedingly great and precious promises whereby You have made me a partaker of Your divine nature, through which You enable me to escape the corruption due the world (2 Peter 1:4).  In all diligence, Father, I will exercise faith in Your promises so I may grow in virtue, knowledge and self-control.  In this way, I know You will help me to develop greater patience and exercise godliness in all areas of my life (2 Peter 1:5-7).

Lord Jesus, You said that You have chosen me and ordained me so I would go and bring forth fruit, and that my fruit would remain (John 15:16).  The apostle Paul urges us to be filled with the fruit of righteousness (Philippians 1:11).  Therefore I commit myself to bringing forth the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  Father, send Your Spirit to help me renounce and turn from the fruit of the flesh, because I am Christ’s I am to crucify the flesh with its affections and lusts (Galatians 5:22-24).

I know a seed cannot bear fruit unless it first falls into the ground and dies (John 12:24).  I confess that I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless, I live; yet not I but Christ lives in me. And the life I now life in the flesh I live by the faith in the Son of God, who loves me and gave Himself for me (Galatians 2:20).  Father, I so want to be good ground, to hear Your Word and understand it, and let it bear fruit in my life – up to a hundred fold (Matthew 13:23).

Father, I thank You for filling me with the knowledge of Your Will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that I may walk worthy of You, Lord God, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of You (Colossians 1:9-10). Gracious God, may I be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth fruit in its season; that my leaf will not wither, and whatever I do will prosper (Psalm 1:3).

  • God Is Good To Us

I will give them singleness of heart and action, so they will always fear Me for their own good, and the good of their children…  I will make an everlasting covenant with them.  I will never stop doing good to them and I will inspire them to fear Me, so they will never turn away from Me.  I will rejoice in doing them good… (Jeremiah 32:39-41)

Surely God is good to Israel, even to those who are upright and pure in heart (Psalm 73:1).

Is the Spirit of the Lord restricted?  …  Do not My words do good to him who walks uprightly? (Micah 2:7)

My eyes will watch over them for their good… (Jeremiah 24:6)

Oh how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear, revere, and worship You; goodness which You have wrought for those who trust and take refuge in You before the sons of men (Psalm 31:19).

When You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good things (Psalm 104:28).

The Lord is good to those who wait hopefully and expectantly for Him, to those who seek Him [inquire of and for Him, and require Him by right of necessity and on the authority of God’s Word].  It is good that one should hope in and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.  (Lamentations 3:25-26).

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor, and [future] glory (honor, splendor and heavenly bliss).  No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11).

Those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing (Psalm 34:10).

For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with good things (Psalm 107:9).

To those who, by persistence in doing good, seek glory and honor and immortality, He will give eternal life (Romans 2:7).

The Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does… (Ephesians 6:8)

Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight so that it may do go well with you… (Deuteronomy 6:18)

Be of good courage and let us be strong for our people and for the cities of our God; and may the Lord do what is good in His sight (1 Chronicles 19:13).

Do good, O Lord, to those who are good, and to those who are upright in heart (Psalm 125:4).

To a person who is good in [God’s] sight, He has given wisdom and knowledge and joy.  While to the sinner He has given the task of gathering and collecting, so that he may give it [hand it over] to the one who is good in God’s sight… (Ecclesiastes 2:26)

We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God, and are called according to His design and purpose (Romans 8:28).

  • Study On Goodness

We have a good God.  If anything good comes to you – even thoughts about someone else – it is from God and should be shared.  Unbelievers are not reading their Bibles; they are reading their Christians.  We have to act as the people set apart that we are – different from everyone else.

    God is good

Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children, and live a life of love… (Ephesians 5:1-2 )

O give thanks to the Lord for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever (1 Chronicles 16:34).

Give praise and thanks to the Lord of Hosts, for the Lord is good; for His mercy and kindness and steadfast love endure forever… (Jeremiah 33:11)

They sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord, saying, “For He is good, for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever toward Israel… (Ezra 3:11)

For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations (Psalm 100:5).

And the Lord said, “I will cause all My goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim My name…” (Exodus 33:19)

Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing praises to His name, for it is pleasant! (Psalm 135:3)

The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made (Psalm 145:9).

Everything God crated is good… (1 Timothy 4:4)

You are good and what You do is good. Teach me Your decrees (Psalm 119:68).

Your laws are good (Psalm 119:39).

The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble.  He cares for those who trust in Him (Nahum 1:7).

For You, O Lord, are good and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You (Psalm 86:5).

Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to Your love remember me, for You are good, O Lord.  Good and upright is the Lord, therefore He instructs sinners in His ways (Psalm 25:7-8).

May the Lord, who is good, pardon everyone who sets his heart on seeking God… (2 Chronicles 30:18)

May Your saints rejoice in Your goodness (2 Chronicles 6:41).

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him (Psalm 34:8).

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good (1 Peter 2:2-3).

Him who called us by His own glory and goodness…  For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness… (2 Peter 1:3, 5)

As for me, it is good to be near God (Psalm 73:28).

Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? …  It is better if it is God’s will to suffer for doing good than for doing evil (1 Peter 3:13, 17).

If you suffer for doing good and you endure, this is commendable before God (1 Peter 2:20).

So then those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good (1 Peter 4:19).

For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men (1 Peter 2:15).

Let us consider how we may stir one another on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24).
