  • Learn To Speak God’s Word

These statements are a matter of the heart. But are meant to be spoken out loud, by you to you. You will get them into your spirit faster if you do this. It is a proven fact that your mind and soul listen more intently to what you say more than what others say. So deliberately feed them into your spirit. Allow the Holy Spirit to make the Word of God a reality in your heart. Your spirit will become quickened to God’s Word, and you will begin to think like God thinks and talk like God talks. You will find yourself pouring over His Word — hungering for more and more. Remember, the Father rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

Speak these words aloud for you, all the world, and especially the angels (good and fallen) to hear. Do not be shy in speaking aloud God’s promises, for God’s Word is able to build you up. The great Charles Capps was told to practice this and he did so daily. After a short while he told the Lord, “Lord, I feel so terrible spouting these words since they feel like such lies!” But God told him to continue speaking them out loud day after day until they grew to be a part of his own spirit, and just to believe that what he spoke would come to pass, that God was trustworthy enough to make what was said a reality. So I speak God’s words, praying they will fill my spirit and soul as well, and make me a true believer in the mighty Word of my God.

God’s Word is more powerful than anything on earth. Trust that!

Behold the handmaid of the Lord; may it be done unto me according to what You have said (Luke 1:38). According to my faith let it be done unto me (Matthew 9:29), because to a great extent in spiritual things, we get what we expect of the Lord! Blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what had been spoken to her by the Lord (Luke 1:45).

The Word of God is living and active; sharper than any two-edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joint and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). They are not just idle words for me. They are my life! By them I will live in the land (Deuteronomy 32:47). Blessed are they who do not doubt the Lord (Matthew 11:6).

You, my Lord, are faithful to all Your promises. Although You are sovereign and You do what You please, You are righteous in all Your ways and loving toward all You have made (Psalm 145:13, 17). These things He has spoken unto me that His joy might remain in me and that my joy might be full (John 15:11). For God has promised: “I am with you and will protect you wherever you go. I will not leave you until I have done that which I have spoken unto you” (Genesis 28:15).

  • God’s Word Should Drive Us

The promises outlined in these pages are meant to be a help and a guide to you so you can get better acquainted with your Heavenly Father and His Word. They are not meant to replace the reading of and meditation on His Word. Not only does His Word affect your life, but also it will affect others through you, for you will then be able to counsel accurately those who come to you for advice. Walk in God’s counsel and prize His wisdom (Psalm 1; Proverbs 4:7-8).

While many of the promises can be claimed by those who love God and are called according to His purpose (called “absolute” promise), the fulfillment of others (considered a “conditional” promise) is dependent upon becoming more alive to the conditions attached — those dependent for their fulfillment upon the carrying out of certain requirements, which are expressly stated in the Word.

The immediate Purpose of acquiring promises is to meet our varied daily needs. The ultimate Design of each promise by our Lord and Maker is the separation of our lives from anything unworthy of the Divine Promisor.

We have the promise that God’s will is reliable and eternal, therefore His promises are reliable and eternal. The promises come to us from God the Father through Jesus, the Son, by the Holy Ghost. The Father conceived the promise. The way to them was opened up by the Son. The appropriation of them is inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Promises, to be effective both materially and spiritually, must be (1) possessed by faith; (2) proven by obedience (3) presented in prayer. God’s unfailing promises are given to stimulate prayer, not supersede it. While everything good for us is promised in answer to believing prayer, nothing is promised apart from it (Mark 11:24). The fire of our prayers must be fed with the fuel of the promise: after (1) being persuaded of the promise, we (2) plead it in prayer, and then (3) possess it. Therefore God’s promises strengthen our faith and prompt our obedience, and also enforce our pleas.

Almighty and Most Holy God, I want all my life to be lived out to Your glory — a living testament of thanks to You for the grace You have given me, and the mercy and love You have shown me. While I do not always do this as I would like, I lovingly offer You my words, deeds, heart, mind and soul to bring glory to Your name by doing Your will. Please use Your Spirit to remove areas of self-deception from my life, so weakness and hypocrisy will not rob my discipleship of its intended worship of Your great majesty. Holy Father, please help me live a more thankful and victorious life before my unbelieving friends and family, and as an example to all, so they may come to share Your glorious kingdom and victory over sin and death. Give me the mind of Jesus to always look to You and trust in You for everything, and every event I find before me today. I love You, O Lord my strength!

  • Let Your Faith Grow

Accept and celebrate two awesome truths derived from these passages: (1) God wields incomparably great power for the those who choose to believe. Read it again! Incomparably great power! More than enough to break the yoke of any bondage or stronghold. Our belief unclogs the pipe and invites the power to flow from Him to our world. (2) God applies the same power to our needs that He exerted when He raised Christ Jesus from the dead. Does your stronghold require more power than it takes to raise the dead? Neither does mine. God can do it, fellow believer. I know because He says so. And I know because He has done it for me. Believe Him… And when you don’t, then cry out earnestly, “Lord God, Help me overcome my unbelief!”

    God’s Power is awesome

Sovereign Lord, Your Word says You esteem the person who is humble and contrite in spirit, and who trembles at Your Word (Isaiah 66:2). I can hardly imagine being someone You esteem, but I sincerely want to be. Please make me that kind of person through the power of Your Holy Spirit, gracious Father.

Lord God, Your Word says You bestow favor and honor on those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11). I can’t claim a blameless walk, but I ask You first for Your mercies, and then for Your grace to empower me to walk with You faithfully, and to never cease pursuing that blameless walk.

You have shown me, O Lord, what is good. And what do You, O Lord, require of me but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with You, my God (Micah 6:8).

O dear Lord Jesus, I want to be like the one to whom You said, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” (Matthew 15:28) Please flourish this kind of faith in me, my dearest Lord.

O Lord Jesus, I want You to be able to say to me, “I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first.” (Revelation 2:19) O please, my loving Lord, cause these words to be true in my life.

I earnestly pray that I walk worthy of You, my Lord God, fully pleasing You and desiring to please You in all things, and being fruitful in every good work. I ask to be ever increasing in the knowledge of You, my God. And so I pray that I am being strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might (Colossians 1:10-11).

May my Lord, Jesus Christ Himself, and God, my Father — who loves us and by His grace gives eternal encouragement and good hope — encourage my heart and strengthen me in every good deed and word (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17).

I know that You are the Lord God, the Almighty God, that those who hope in You will not be disappointed (Isaiah 49:23).

  • God Is A Loving Father

Father God, how great is the love You have bestowed on me that I should be called a child of Yours. And that is what I am (1 John 3:1). He who unites himself with the Lord is one with Him in spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17). So Father, I am Your child and I confess Jesus as Lord over my spirit, soul and body this day and every day. I give myself to You freely — wholly and completely — as an instrument for Your kingdom use. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit, that I may go about Your work this day in Your love and power. For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that overcomes: my faith (1 John 5:4). I agree with the Word of God; I believe the Word of God; I confess the Word of God and thus change my circumstances and gain my victory through Christ Jesus my Champion.

    God is a loving Father!

I am Your dear child, Lord God, and I am from You, and so I overcome all that is in the world — all the influences of the evil one. Because the One who is in me is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4). The Great God has redeemed me from the hand of my adversary, therefore I will have no more fear of the devil (Psalm 107:2). I let the peace of Christ Jesus rule in my heart since as a member of His body I was called to peace. And I am thankful/grateful/praiseful (Colossians 3:15). I refuse to worry about anything, because God is on my side. God is in me now. Who can be against me and win? (Romans 8:31)

Lord God, heavenly Father, according to Your Word, my ‘light and momentary’ troubles are achieving for me an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So I fix my eyes NOT on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary; what is unseen is eternal (1 Corinthians 4:17-18). I don’t have to fight Satan; he is an already defeated foe. The only battle I have to fight is the good fight of faith. With the Lord at my right hand, I walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). O Lord my gracious God, please strengthen my spiritual vision that I may see You everywhere.

Father God, I worship You in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). The spirit counts for everything; the flesh counts for nothing. The Spirit realm is the reality; the materiel realm is the supplemental. And I thank You for opening my eyes to it. Lord God, You said the mind governed by the spirit is life and peace (Romans 8:6). With Your gracious hand, dearest Lord, guide my spirit to govern my mind.

I am a wise child and I will heed my Father’s instructions (Proverbs 13:1). I no longer conform to the pattern of this world. I am transformed by the renewing of my mind through God’s Word (Romans 12:2). God my Father revives me according to His Word (Psalm 119:25). I do not want to let the Word depart from before my eyes, Father. So I pray to You to help me keep it within my heart. For it is life to me; I have found it and it is health and healing to all my flesh and bones (Proverbs 4:21-22).

Almighty God, I know You are capable, and so I pray for You to not let Your Word depart from my mouth. I put forth effort to meditate on it day and night so I am careful to do everything written in it. Because then I will be prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:8). I ask You, God, Father of all glory, please give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You, so I may know You better. Father God, I pray the eyes of my understanding be enlightened so I may know the hope of Your calling, the riches of my glorious inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of Your power toward us who believe! This power is like the working of Your mighty strength which You exerted in Christ Jesus when You raise Him from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 1:17-19). If You can raise Jesus from the dead and set Him beside You at Your throne, I know You can deliver me from every stronghold I am stuck in, as long as I trust You for it.

I do not stop praying and asking You, Father God, to fill me with all knowledge of You and Your will, through all spiritual wisdom and understanding (Colossians 1:9). Please, gracious God, feed me discernment to know Your will in every situation. Lord, teach me knowledge and good judgment for I believe in Your commands (Psalm 119:66). I look into the perfect law that gives freedom, and I continue to do this, not forgetting what I have heard, but doing it, and so I am blessed in what I do (James 1:25). I remember it is a message to obey, not just to listen to and so deceive myself (James 1:22).

God Father, I pray that out of Your glorious riches You will strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being, so that Christ Jesus may dwell in my heart richly through faith. And I pray that, being rooted and established in Your love, I may have power together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ Jesus, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that I may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. I know You are able to do immeasurably more than all I could ask or can even imagine, according to Your power that is at work within me. To You be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:16-21)

  • God Loves To Hear From You

I thank the people that have already visited this site. It is in its infancy! And I’m not very good at blogging yet, or handling this editor very well (it appears). But I thank you for coming, and pray this site blesses whomever may show up here. Please excuse my attempts at blogging until I get the hang of things.

In the meantime, I will continue what I have started. That is to encourage God’s children to trust Him more. Believer, victory is your inheritance! Claim it!

We can all be heirs according to God’s promise to Abraham

Lord God, You are a merciful God. You will not abandon or destroy me, or forget the covenant with my spiritual forefathers, which You confirmed to them by an oath (Deuteronomy 4:31). Your Word says that if I belong to Jesus Christ, I too can be an heir of His promises (Galatians 3:29). Like Isaac, I am a child of Promise (Galatians 4:28). Therefore I plead these promises.

According to Your Word, O loving God, I belong to Christ Jesus; therefore I too am Abraham’s seed and heir according to the promise You gave him (Galatians 3:29). Father God, You promised to give me a heart to know You, that You are the Lord God. You promised I could be Your people and You would be my God, for I have indeed returned to You with all my heart (Jeremiah 24:7). My faithful God, who is the same yesterday and today and forever, please be to me what You were for Abram: my shield and my very great reward (Genesis 15:1).

Lord God, Abraham didn’t waiver in unbelief at Your promise, but was strengthened in his faith. I too am fully persuaded that what You promise You are able to perform. Because of this, like Abraham, You credit me with righteousness! (Romans 4:20-22) You made Jesus, who had no sin, to be sin for me, so that in Him I can claim the righteousness of God. I have placed myself in Jesus and have put my trust in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). I listen to Jesus and His message, and I believe God sent Him. So I have His eternal life in me (John 5:25). No man can take me out of His hand, for I have eternal life in Him (John 10:28).

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things are passed away. Behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). I do not care how I feel, how it looks, or what the situation says. I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. I agree with the Word of God. I thank my God and praise Him because I am a new creation — His masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10) — and the old me has passed away. I am fearfully and wonderfully re-made in Christ Jesus (Psalm 139:14).

It is because of God that I am in Christ Jesus, who has become for me wisdom from God — Jesus is my righteousness, holiness, and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30). Jesus is my Kinsman Redeemer and I owe Him my life.
