  • Praying to Know God Better

    Lord God, I serve You with gladness, and I come into Your presence with singing.  I know You are my God; it is You who made me and not I myself (Psalm 100:2-3).  I am Your child (1 John 3:1), and I am a sheep in Your pasture.  I enter Your gates with thanksgiving and go into Your courts with praise (Psalm 100:3-4).  I am so thankful to You and I bless Your name, because You are good, and Your mercy is everlasting.  Father, I thank You that Your truth endures to all generations (Psalm 100:5).

    Let us draw near to God, to behold be beauty of His wonders.

    I want to know You better (Colossians 1:10), dearest Father, and therefore I will call upon You, knowing You will harken unto me.  And I will seek You, knowing I will find You, for I will seek You with all my heart (Jeremiah 29:12-13).  As I pursue knowing You better, O God Father, I will draw near to You and I know You will draw near to me (James 4:8).

    Thank You, Father, for enabling me to understand the reverential fear of You, and for helping me to know You, for You have given me wisdom, and from Your mouth I receive knowledge and understanding (Proverbs 2:1-6).

    Heavenly Father, thank You for loving the world so much that You gave Your only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).  Truly, there is no greater love than Yours, Lord God (John 15:13).  Thank You for sending Jesus to redeem the world. And I thank You for saving me.  Above all else, Lord, I desire to know Your love which passes all knowledge, and to be filled with all Your fullness (Ephesians 3:19).

    Teach me, Father, to always remember I am able to love only because You first loved me (1 John 4:19).  Because You love me, You have given me commandments to follow; and because I love You, I want to obey You always (John 14:15).  Because You have saved me and made me a new creation in Christ Jesus, I can love others as You have loved me.  Through this means, Lord, I know that others will realize I am a disciple of Christ Jesus (John 13:34-35).  Thank You for Your perfect love which casts out all fear from my life (1 John 4:18).  Your amazing love shows me how to love sincerely, without hypocrisy (Romans 12:9). 

    It’s a wonderful realization to know there is no fear in Your love.  In fact, I rejoice in the certainty that Your perfect love casts out all fear from my life (1 John 4:18).  Thank You for delivering me from the torments of fear; You have not given me a spirit of fear; for You have given me a spirit of power, of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).  Fill me with Your love now as I receive it by faith in Your promise (Mark 11:24).

    I rejoice and truly thank You that there is no limit to Your love, Lord.  It is from everlasting to everlasting.  You have poured Your love abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit Who has been given to me (Romans 5:5).  Strengthen me with might by the Holy Spirit so I will be able to comprehend with all the saints the full extent of Your love (Ephesians 3:18).  Your Son, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, dwells in my heart by faith, and I thank You that You are rooting and grounding me in His love (Ephesians 3:17) so I may pass His love on to others I meet. 

  • Praying More Effectively

    Lord God, thank You for the promise of Your Word that tells me when I call unto You, You will answer me and show me great and mighty things (Jeremiah 3:33).  This wonderful promise inspires me to learn to pray more effectively and to experience all You have for me in prayer. 

    Let us charge into the adventure set before us, using God’s Word to guide us and His love to protect us.

    I thank You, Father, for the confidence I have in You, that, if I ask anything according to Your Will, You hear me.  And because I know You hear me, I know I will receive the petitions I have asked of You (1 John 5:14-15).  Your Word reveals Your Will to me (2 Timothy 3:16); therefore, I will pray according to Your Word.

    Your Word is filled with so many precious prayer promises.  Thank You for each and every one of them.  As I meditate on these promises, and learn to pray Your Word and Your Will, I know Your Word will never return to You void of effect.  It will always accomplish Your purposes (Isaiah 55:11).  Thank You, Father.  Thank You for Your Holy Spirit Who helps me to pray more effectively, for when I am not sure how to pray about a matter, the Holy Spirit comes to my aid (Romans 8:26).  I trust the Holy Spirit to lead and help me in every area of my life including prayer (Romans 8:14). 

    Father, in the name of Jesus, I offer up thanksgiving that You have called me to be a fellow workman – a joint promoter and a laborer together with and for You (1 Corinthians 3:9).  I commit myself to pray and not to turn coward – faint, lose heart or give up (Luke 18:1).  Fearlessly and confidently and boldly I draw near to the throne of grace that I may receive mercy and find grace to help in good tie for every need – appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when I [and others] need it (Hebrews 4:16). 

    When I do not know what prayer to offer and how to offer it worthily as I ought, Father, I thank You that the Holy Spirit comes to my aid and bears me up in my weakness.  He meets my supplication and pleads in my behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.  And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit intercedes and pleads on behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God’s Will.  Therefore, I am assured and know – God being a partner in my labor – all things work together and are fitting into a plan for My good, because I love God and am called according to His design and purpose (Romans 8:26-28).

    I do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make my wants known to You (Philippians 4:6).  Whatever I ask for in prayer, I believe that it is granted to me, and I will receive it (Mark 11:24).  The earnest prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available – dynamic in its working (James 5:16).  Father, I live in You – abide vitally united to You – and Your words remain in me and continue to live in my heart.  Therefore I ask whatever I will and it shall be done for me (John 15:7).  When I bear much fruit through prayer, You, Father, are honored and glorified (John 15:5).

    You, O Lord, are the end of all that is good, the height of all that is life, the depth of all that can be spoken.

  • Praying God’s Words

    Prayer based upon the Word of God rises above the senses, contacts the Author of that Word, and sets His spiritual laws into motion.  Yet it is not just speaking words that gets results; it is spending time with the Father (fellowshipping), learning His wisdom (meditation), drawing on His strength (building faith), being filled with His quietness (trusting), and basking in His love (praising Him) that brings results to our prayers.

    Our world changes when we speak God’s words into it.

    Prayer is fellowshipping with God (1 Corinthians 3:9)that should be constantly practiced (1 Thessalonians 5:17) to bring results based on God’s Word:

    I am watching to see My Word is fulfilled (Jeremiah 1:12).

    It is our heritage and privilege and right.

    Prayer is the “Living Word” (Hebrews 4:12) in our mouths (1 Peter 4:11).  To plead the promises, we put Him in remembrance of His Word (Isaiah 43:26) knowing that His Word is not void and useless (Isaiah 55:11).  Using God’s Word on purpose, specifically, is a most effective and accurate means of praying (John 6:63).  God’s Word – our spirit food as we read it every day – takes root in our hearts, is formed by the tongue, and is spoken out of our mouths.  THIS is creative power!  The spoken words of God work as we confess it and then apply the action to it.  

    “According to your faith will it be done to you”(Matthew 9:29).

    The prayers offered here were designed to teach and train us in the art of personal confession and intercessory prayer.  All the other skills required for successful results are up to each one of us individually.  As Christians, our first priority is to love the Lord our God with our entire being, and our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:30).  We are called to be intercessors, to inquire of God in His temple [our hearts] – that is our job:

    Therefore, this is what the Lord says: “If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve Me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be My spokesman. Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them (Jeremiah 15:19).

    Promise, Prayer and Performance cover our advancement in the spiritual life. Promises and performance are the Lord’s doing, but prayer must come from us. Promises are ineffective and their performance inoperative if prayer (speaking the promises) on our part is lacking. God’s unfailing promises are given to stimulate prayer, not to supersede it. While everything good for us is promised in answer to believing prayer, nothing is promised apart from it. Therefore, prayer = “pleading the promises”.

    When Jesus was on the earth, those who received Him and His teachings became known as “disciples” or “learners”. Therefore, all the promises He gave His disciples are for the disciples of any age to claim. Written for all the saints, they were likewise written for each saint.

    Take the promises, O child of God, and plea them as your title to the inheritance, and they will be owned. They are your charter and covenant from God Himself. Not given of favor, nor for any merit, but are of grace — words of love, not rewards for service.

  • God’s First Promise

    The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon (Psalm 92:12). God wants you to grow in Him. 

    God takes it upon Himself to see that we grow. Trust Him to do this.

    The end result of learning, meditating, believing, receiving, and praying is declared in Ephesians:

    Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning of craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is Christ Jesus (Ephesians 4:14-15). 

    God promises to help you grow if you accept His promises and live in accord with them.

    His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires (2 Peter 1:3-4).  

    Praises be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).  No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him — but God has revealed it to us by His Spirit, the Spirit that searches all things even the deep things of God (1 Corinthians 2:9-10).  

    This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will [His promises], He hears us. And if we know that He hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of Him (1 John 5:14-15).  For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so, through Him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes [us all] stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set His seal of ownership on us, and put His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come (2 Corinthians 1:20-22).    

    Do not let this book of the Law depart from our mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:8). All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).  Every word of God is flawless (Proverbs 30:5).  God Himself said: So is My word that goes out from My mouth: it will not return to Me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it (Isaiah 55:11).

    Praise be to the Lord… Not one word has failed of all the good promises He gave through His servant Moses (1 Kings 8:56).  Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away (Matthew 24:35).  Your word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens (Psalm 119:89).  The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of our God stand forever (Isaiah 40:8).

    God promises you that you will grow strong in His Word, and He wants you to know the truth from His Word. So let us live in accord with His word and His truth.

    God, Father, grant me the grace to be available to others today for Your sake.

  • Praying the Promises of God

    Prayer makes us stronger, morally and mentally, than any other activity.  It builds confidence, gives joy and pride in our work, and lifts us up to eagerly face the day’s perils and fatigues.  Faith for fear, strength for anxiety, confidence for hesitation, inward power adequate for whatever situation – that is prayer’s purpose.  Prayer is positive affirmation of faith and confidence in God that puts divine strength in the center of the picture and crowds apprehensions, anxieties, and fears off the edge of the playing field.

    Praying God’s promises changes our world; it changes us.

    Prayer is not a process by which normal man turns our All-powerful God into a bellboy. Real prayer is always more than begging.  It is affirmation!  To pray God’s promises is to release superhuman power into the situation.  It is an endeavor to put ourselves into such a relationship with God that He can do – in and for and through us — what He wants done.  Therefore, prayer is the listening ear of the servant, the hospitable heart of the servant, the cooperative will of God’s servant. 

    God always answers believing prayer that is based upon the promises of His Word. By speaking His promises, we are incorporating God’s truth into every area of our lives.  Many amazing things happen when people learn to speak the promises of God:  Our faith grows; our attitudes change; our hearts are softened. We transcend our problems, and our point of view becomes more congruent with God’s perspective.  Daily miracles take place because prayer produces both physical and spiritual power in our lives.   

    In the kingdom of God we are learning more and more that everything is connected: the spiritual and the physical are all mixed together to create the world as we know it.  That is why speaking God’s promises into our situations can release God’s power into the physical realm. Where do the good things in life come from? Jesus said they come out of our own hearts. Whatever you store there – the information you program into your spirit – will produce for you.  It always produces after its kind!

    Praying God’s Promises back to Him puts you in touch with the heart of God.  They will change your perspective, attitude, and circumstances, because they reveal to you all that God has in store for you.  They are not magical formulas, but they are faith building mediations.  Promise packed prayer, expressed in heart-felt faith, meets any need.  Things won’t happen because you speak these prayers one time.  But they will, over time change your mindset to create your desired world around you.  They will build your faith to enable you to reach out and receive the fulfillment of all your needs.

    It is our privilege, as children of the One True King, to walk in His blessings.  When we read God’s Word we find God has outright promised to bless us emotionally (mind), to prosper us physically (body), and to care for our spiritual growth (soul).  God wants to move in our behalf when we are discouraged, worried, lonely, depressed, confused, tempted, angry, or guilty.  As we pray the promises of God, we learn that God is always there to lead us into greater realms of emotional health and security.  Emotions are not our master, and circumstance are not our master.  The One who is our Lord and Master desires to bless us with a greater portion of love, faith, hope, confidence, happiness, security, and joy.  As we pray, we will find our fear turned into faith, despair turned into hope, and worry turned into peace.  Truly!

  • A Prayer to Speak Truth

    I have chosen the way of Truth; I have set my heart on Your laws (Psalm 119:30). Blessed are they who do not doubt the Lord (Matthew 11:6).

    To some, God’s Word is prickly. But to those who see its beauty, it is a faithful companion.

    Father, I commit myself to walk in Your Word.  Your Word living in me produces Your life in this world.  I recognize that Your Word is integrity itself – steadfast, sure, eternal (Psalm 119:89). The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), and I trust my life to its provisions.  They are not just idle words for me. They are my life! By them I will live in the land (Deuteronomy 32:47).

    You have sent Your Word forth into my heart.  I will let it dwell in me richly in all wisdom (Colossians 3:16).  I have been born anew of incorruptible seed, that is – the living and enduring Word of God (1 Peter 1:23).  Through Your great and precious promises, I can share in the Your divine nature and escape corruption from sinful desires (2 Peter 1:4). 

    I choose to agree with Your Word, O Lord, and I choose to disagree with any thoughts, conditions, or circumstances contrary to Your Word. Jesus, In Your name and with Your strength and wisdom, I will learn to take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). I boldly and confidently say that my heart is fixed and established on the solid foundation – the Living Word of God.

    Your Word of truth is my counsel, my shield, my buckler (Psalm 91:4), and my powerful weapon in battle (Ephesians 6:17).  Please direct my footsteps according to Your Word (Psalm 119:133), that I may go on my way in safety, for I trust in Your Word (Psalm 119:42).

    Let my prayer be set forth as incense before You, the lifting of my hands as the evening sacrifice (Psalm 141:2).  He who brings an offering of praise and thanksgiving honors and glorifies You; and he who orders his way aright, to him You will demonstrate the salvation of God (Psalm 50:23).  Therefore, set a guard over my mouth, O Lord, keep watch over the door of my lips (Psalm 141:3).  My mouth shall be filled with Your praise and with Your honor all day long (Psalm 71:8).  Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You, so will I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name (Psalm 63:3-4). 

    I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His Word I put my hope (Psalm 130:5). Lord God, put Your words into my mouth and cover me in the shadow of Your hand (Isaiah 51:16). Heavenly Father, please give me the tongue of the learned that I may know how to speak a word of truth in season to him who is weary (Isaiah 50:4).

  • Prayer of Dedication to His Word

    If I speak, I want only to speak the very words of God (1 Peter 4:11). The plans of the mind and orderly thinking belong to man, but from You, Lord, comes the wise answer of the tongue (Proverbs 16:1). Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit (Proverbs 18:21). I love speaking God’s Word and so I will bear much fruit.

    Let us keep the Word of God as our daily sustenance.

    Thank You for Your Word which imparts faith to my heart (Romans 10:17).  As I believe Your Word, You fill me with all joy and peace, and I will abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).  Therefore, I desire to not let Your Word depart from my mouth as I meditate upon its truths day and night.  Almighty God, I know You are capable, and so I pray to You for this. And I vow to walk in Your Word daily, because then I know You will fulfill Your promise to make my way prosperous, and to fill my life with good success (Joshua 1:8). 

    I delight myself in You and Your Word.  Because of that, You put Your desires within my heart.  I commit my way unto You, and You bring it to pass (Psalm 37:4-5).  I am confident that You are at work in me now, both to will and to do all Your good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).

    I will keep my tongue from evil and my lips from speaking lies (Psalm 34:13). I will watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin. I will put a muzzle over my mouth as long as the wicked are before me (Psalm 39:1), because whoever guards his mouth and tongue keeps his soul from trouble (Proverbs 21:23). He who guards his lips guards his life (Proverbs 13:3). Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent; and discerning if he holds his tongue (Proverbs 17:28), but the tongue of the wise brings healing (Proverbs 12:18).

    When I speak Your Word aloud, I speak forth life into my own heart and the hearts of others.  As I continue to hold forth Your Word, Lord, teach me to rejoice as in the day of Christ, knowing my labor for You is never in vain, Father (Philippians 2:16).  Teach me to always be a doer of Your Word, not only a hearer (James 1:22).  By keeping Your Word, I realize Your love is made perfect in me.  Please give me Your grace, Lord, to be both a doer and a keeper of Your Word. 

    I am a wise child, and I will heed my Father’s instructions (Proverbs 13:1). I no longer conform to the pattern of this world. I am transformed by the renewing of my mind through God’s Word (Romans 12:2). God my Father revives me according to His Word (Psalm 119:25). I truly do not want to let the Word depart from before my eyes, Father, so I pray to You to help me keep it within my heart. For it is life to me; I have found it and it is health and healing to all my flesh and bones (Proverbs 4:21-22).

  • Praying to Walk in God’s Word

    Your Word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens (Psalm 119:89).  All Your Words are pure, O God (Proverbs 30:5).  Your way is perfect, and Your Word is tried and true – flawless (Psalm 18:30).  By Your Word, You made the heavens and all the starry host, O God of the Universe (Psalm 33:6). 

    God’s Word is there to lead us along the correct path for our situation.

    Lord God, I bless You because You have given me rest according to all that You have promised to me; not one Word of all Your good promises has ever failed (1 Kings 8:56).  In light of this truth, I desire to walk in Your Word at all times. 

    I love Your Word, Father; it is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105).  When I go, Your Word will lead me. When I sleep, Your Word will keep me.  When I awaken, Your Word will speak to me.  Your Word is truly a lamp and a light for me (Proverbs 6:22-23).

    Long ago I learned from Your statutes that You established Your words to last forever (Psalm 119:152). All Your words are true; all Your righteous laws are eternal (Psalm 119:160). Your Word is truth (John 17:17). Give me understanding according to Your Word (Psalm 119:169).

    Your Word has revived me and given me life (Psalm 119:50).  Your testimonies also are my delight and my counselors (Psalm 119:24).  I will worship toward Your Holy Temple and praise Your name for Your lovingkindness and for Your truth and faithfulness.  For You have exalted above all else Your name and Your Word, and You have magnified Your Word above even Your Name (Psalm 138:2). 

    All the promises that You have made are “yes” in Christ Jesus. And so, in Him the “amen” is spoken by us unto Your glory, O God (2 Corinthians 1:20).  Your Word is quick, alive, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword.  It pierces even to the dividing asunder of my soul and spirit, and of my joints and marrow; and is a discerner of thoughts and intents of my heart (Hebrews 4:12). 

    Heavenly Father, I want to live by every word that comes from Your mouth (Matthew 4:4).  I hide Your Word in my heart that I may not sin against You (Psalm 119:11). Strengthen me according to Your Word (Psalm 119:28). Give me understanding, and I will keep Your Word and obey it with all my heart (Psalm 119:34). Father, I rise to give You thanks for Your righteous Word (Psalm 119:62), and I will endeavor to walk in the light of Your Word all the days of my life (Psalm 119:112).

    I know Your Word will never return to You without it having its desired effect (Isaiah 55:11).  Thank You for Your Word, Father, and teach me to keep on walking in Your Word.

    O magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His Name together (Psalm 34:3). 

  • A Prayer for Confidence

    It is my heart’s desire to trust in You always and to do good.  I will delight myself in You, O Lord, and I trust You will give me the desires of my heart. As I commit my life to You, Lord, and trust in You, You will fulfill Your promises to me.  You will bring forth my righteousness as the light, and Your judgment as the noonday sun.  Knowing these truths enables me to rest securely in You (Psalm 37:3-7).

    Confidence in God: His love surrounds us, and we have all we need.

    I will not fear, for You are with me; I will not be dismayed, for You are my God.  You strengthen me and help me; You will uphold me with Your righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10). I will not let my heart be troubled.  I trust in You, God, I trust also in Your Son (John 14:1). Because my heart is fixed on You, trusting in You, I will not be afraid (Psalm 112:7).

    Help me to trust You more and more because I know this is the key to security in my life.  Your Word promises that the man is blessed who trusts in You, Lord, whose confidence is in You. Then I will be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out roots by the river. I will not fear when heat comes and will never fail to bear fruit (Jeremiah 17:7-8). 

    This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is you salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength” (Isaiah 30:15). Father, this knowledge brings a feeling of great security to my soul.  Thank You for Your Promise that Your unfailing love will surround me as I trust in You (Psalm 32:10).  Thank You for promising to direct my paths when I trust You with all my heart and not lean on my own understanding of things (Proverbs 3:5-6). 

    Grant that I would never place my trust in uncertain riches or any other thing except You, my loving Lord and God, who richly gives me all things to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17).

    I place my trust in You, O Lord, in You alone; because I realize I am not sufficient of myself in anything.  All my sufficiency and security are from You, dearest Father (2 Corinthians 3:5).  You are my confidence, and I know You will always keep my feet from being snared (Proverbs 3:26).  Thank You, Lord God, that through faith in Christ Jesus I have boldness and access to You with confidence (Ephesians 3:12).  Therefore, I cast all my worries upon You, trusting that You care for me (1 Peter 5:7).

    Though a host encamp against me, my heart will not fear; though war arise against me, in spite of this I shall be confident… I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I will wait for the Lord; I will be strong and let my heart take courage; yes, I will wait for the Lord (Psalm 27:3, 13-14).

    For You have been my hope, O Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth (Psalm 71:5). In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children will have refuge (Proverbs 14:26). The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever (Isaiah 32:17).

    It is Christ Jesus my Lord, in whom I have boldness and confident access to the Father through faith in Him (Ephesians 3:12). For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in me will perfect it unto the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6). Christ was faithful as a Son over His house – whose house I am, if I hold fast my confidence and the boast of my hope firm until the end (Hebrews 3:6). We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. (Hebrews 3:14).

    Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Since therefore brothers, we have confidence to enter the Holy Place by the blood of Jesus… let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:19-23).

    We can confidently say, “The Lord is my Helper, I will not be afraid; what shall man do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6). Beloved if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God (1 John 3:21). By this, love is perfected within us, that we may have confidence in the day of judgement; because as He is, so also are we in this world. (1 John 4:17). And now, let us abide in Him, so that when He appears, we may have confidence and not shrink away from Him in shame at His coming. (1 John 2:2). And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. (1 John 5:14). And so we pray to Him.

  • A Prayer To Trust

    The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.  My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song (Psalm 28:7). I will offer right sacrifices and trust in the Lord (Psalm 4:5)

    The Lord God is worthy of our trust. He will direct us through our trials.

    Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You (Psalm 9:10). Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God (Psalm 20:7).

    “Call upon Me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you, and you will honor Me.” (Psalm 50:15). Deliver us from the evil one (Matthew 6:13).

    To You, O Lord, I lift up my soul; in You I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemy [the devil] triumph over me (Psalm 25:1-2). I trust in You, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.”  My times are in Your hands; deliver me from my enemy and from those who pursue me (Psalm 31:14-15).

    You, O God, will bring down the wicked into the pit of corruption; bloodthirsty and deceitful men will not live out half their days.  But as for me, I trust in You (Psalm 55:23).

    I trust in the Lord.  I will be glad and rejoice in Your love for You saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul.  You have not handed me over to the enemy but have set my feet in a spacious place (Psalm 31:6-8). In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid.  What can mortal man do to me? (Psalm 56:4)

    Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You.  Show me the way I should go, for to You I lift up my soul.  Rescue me from my enemies, O Lord, for I hide myself in You.  Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; may Your good Spirit lead me on level ground (Psalm 143:8-10).

    He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust” (Psalm 91:1-2). Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever (Psalm 125:1).

    Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid.  The Lord, the Lord God, is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation (Isaiah 12:2).  I will wait for the Lord. I will put my trust in Him (Isaiah 8:17). Trust in the Lord forever for the Lord, the Lord God is the Rock eternal (Isaiah 26:4).

    Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of His servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God (Isaiah 50:10). The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble.  He cares for those who trust in Him (Nahum 1:7).

    Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light (John 12:36). May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).
