  • God’s Creative Force – Part 3

Your spirit is programmed by words: Faith comes by hearing the Word of God; fear comes by hearing what the enemy says.  No person in his right mind would go around confessing the same thing his enemy says – you have enough sense to know your enemy’s words are designed to work against you.  The devil wants you to create a distorted, unworthy, self-destructive image on the inside of you, with words authored by the enemy of your soul.

Jesus didn’t say God would bring forth good things.  Man brings forth good things (Matthew 12:35).  Not out of his head or intellect, but out of his heart (Matthew 15:11, 18-19).  The last thing the devil ever wants you to see is the facts of the recreated spirit.  Here are some of those facts:

    1. You were created for GOD; you are His workmanship, not your own. (Ephesians 2:10; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 8:12)  You have become a son of God so you can be a partaker of His divine nature, very capable of fellowshipping with deity.  Satan can’t do that.  He is a dead spirit, he cannot function in the realm of the God-life as man can.  The reborn human spirit is a higher creation!  Man was created to have fellowship with deity.
    2. You were created by spirit. The spirit of man is not of this world. The creative ability of man comes through his spirit.  When man has God’s Word abundantly abiding in his heart and speaks it forth in faith, he speaks spirit words that work in the world of the spirit.  These spirit words dominate the natural world.
    3. Your spirit can change the world. The words Jesus spoke (John 6:63) were of the Word of God. He released faith through the words He spoke.  His words penetrated the spirits of men.  Their spirits heard Him and they acted from their spirit on His spirit words.  (John 5:8; Mark 3:5; Mark 5:41; Luke 7:14; John 11:43) Spirit words spoken by Jesus ignited the faith that was already residing in these people.  It caused an explosion of God’s ability on their behalf.  It was all set in motion by words spoken in faith.

Today many are born again and hear the Word, but hearing is not the foundation (Matthew 7:24-27).  Doing the Word is the foundation that made the one man successful in life.  God’s Word is the only true knowledge (Hosea 4:6), and it will make you stable even in the storms of life (Psalm 112:7).  Speaking God’s Word will bring God on the scene (Jeremiah 1:12), for He is watching.  To disagree with the Word opens the door to the devil.

The thief comes to steal (John 10:10).  Jesus came to undo the work of the devil (1 John 3:8).  Jesus purchased our freedom from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13-14).  We find in DEUT 28-30 the curse of the law. The Word says you are free.  Be smart enough to agree with God!

Now whether I ever get it or not, that’s up to God.  As long as I say what He said and do what He said to do, I am doing my part, and you can rest assured God will do His part.

Learn to put the Word of God into confession form.  Then agree with the Word.  Look at Proverbs 14:3.  It tells us that the lips of the wise WILL preserve him.  They WILL preserve him through financial crisis.  They WILL preserve him when other’s say there is a recession or a depression.  His lips WILL preserve him if he confesses what the Word says, if he acts on the Word.  The knowledge we have, we are to use aright.

If you don’t act on God’s Word, you won’t be experiencing God’s best (James 1:22-25).  You have to speak the words to change the world around you.  Don’t be just listeners, but doers and so get the blessings of God.  Note also: A lot of folks seem religious, but the Word said if he doesn’t control his tongue, it will destroy all that he said he believed (James 1:26).  You need to KNOW what the Word of God says about you.  Determine now to know what the New Covenant (contract) says about you.

  • God’s Creative Force – Part 2

Those who say they can and those who say they can’t are both right.  We must learn to use our words more effectively.  Today many Christians have been taken captive by their own words.  By the prayer of their own mouth they have been put in a position where they cannot receive from God (Hosea 4:6).  We have all done it at one time or another.  We have used our tongue to form the very words that defeat us.  We have prayed defeat and received defeat.  We have prayed the problem and it became a greater problem.

God’s Word is spiritual law.  It functions just as sure as any natural law.  We have learned how to work with natural laws, like electricity and gravity.  If we work with the law of electricity, electrical force will work for us.  As long as we enforce the law that controls electrical force, it will produce energy… and yet it will produce no harm to us. However, this same force can destroy if the law that governs it is not enforced.

So it is with words that come forth out of your mouth.  They will work for you IF you control those words and bring them into obedience to spiritual law; which is God’s Word [see yesterday’s bullet points]. This is not Christian Science; it’s Christian Sense!  We don’t deny the existence of the mountain.  We deny the right of the mountain to exist in our way.

It won’t happen overnight.  It won’t happen just because you say it once or twice.  It is going to happen though, if you continually affirm what God’s Word says – until it gets into your spirit and becomes a part of you.  The Word of God, engrafted in your spirit will deliver you from every circumstance of life (James 1:21).  If you find God’s Word for it, get it into your spirit.  If you will continually believe and affirm that Word, I don’t care how big the mountain appears to be, you should not be moved by what you see.  You should only be motivated by what you believe.  The Word of God is the final authority on it all. We are to walk by faith not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

There was a time I was very low mentally and physically.  Negative thoughts in my mind did not agree with the Word of God.  Then the enemy tried to convince me I had failed God and that was the reason I had lost everything and God was mad at me.  (I know this story sounds familiar to many because it is one of the devil’s favorite lies he uses to bring condemnation and confusion to God’s people.)

I remember one morning I was praying and I said, “Father, I have prayed and it is not working out.”  He spoke inside my spirit so plain: “What are you doing?”  I said, “I’m praying.”  He said: “No, you’re complaining.”  Then He asked: “Who told you it is not working out?”  Now that shook me!  I thought for a minute then said, “I guess the devil said that.”  Then He spoke into my spirit some things that totally transformed my life.  He said: “I would appreciate it if you would quit telling Me what the devil said.  You have been praying for me to prosper you and get the devil off your back.  I am not the one causing your problems.  You are under an attack of the evil one and I can’t do anything about it.  You have bound Me by the words of your own mouth.  And it is not going to get any better until you change your confession and begin to agree with My Word.  You are operating in fear and unbelief.  You have established the words of the evil one in your behalf.  By your own mouth you have released the ability of the enemy and if I did anything about it, I would have to violate My Word.  And I can’t do that.”

You see, I had just gotten enough of His Word in me to where He could talk to me intelligently about the problem.  Until then He had no basis on which to talk to me for I had cast out His Word and quoted the enemy.  Over a period of the next few months He spoke many things into my spirit that totally upended my way of thinking.  God said, “I am for you.  I want you to prosper, but I want you to do it in a way that will work an eternal value in you, by using your faith and acting on the Word.  The power of binding and loosing is not in heaven; it is on earth.  And if you don’t do it, it won’t be done.  Study and search My Word for promises that pertain to you as a believer.  Make a list of these and confess them aloud daily.  They will build with your spirit over a period of time.  Then when these truths are established in your spirit they will become true in you.”

This is the secret of faith: continually saying what God said.  So for two and a half years I studied the Word of God and made my confession list.  Many people want to know why it won’t work for them when they have not meditated on the Word and would not dare say anything contrary to their sense knowledge.  Sense knowledge says “all my needs have been met” is telling a lie.  But how can you be telling a lie when you are speaking truth (John 17:17)?

Prayer became a challenging experience of forgetting circumstances.  It was exciting to confess I have abundance and there is no lack when the lack was very apparent.  One morning as I was confessing the Word, I stopped and said, “Lord, You know I don’t believe all this I’m saying is true in me” – it was that old sense tradition coming through, making me feel like I was lying.  The Lord answered, “That’s all right, son, just keep saying what the Word says until it becomes a part of you, then it will be true in you.”  So I kept confessing.  When it became formed in me, I realized I had broken into a realm of faith I never knew existed! I could now make those statements with full assurance that God would honor His Word.

Confess the Word of God instead of negative things.  You may say “How long do I confess it?”  All of your life!  In every situation, for every reason under the sun. Just agree with the Word of God.  Don’t worry about having faith. Faith will result from reading God’s Word (Romans 10:17).

As you act on these principles, you may not be without battles.  But you WILL NEVER LOSE THE WAR!  These are simple steps in living a victorious Christian life.  Begin today to apply these principles in every area of your life and as you do you will experience God’s power and provision at work for you.

Above all remember: Don’t put your faith in faith – put your faith in your God who handles your faith.  Jesus is the Author of your faith, He gave to you that first measure of faith.  Jesus is also the Finisher of your faith.  He will direct you how to use it, what to have faith for, and how to build your faith. Just ask and trust Him.

  • God’s Creative Force

Lately, during this Lenten season, I have prayed for God’s guidance on what to include in this blog, what He wants His children to read. And I keep coming back to the sermon on “The Tongue – A Creative Force” by Charles Capps. I started this blog because of the idea Jesus put in my mind that His children need to see God’s Word in practice; to learn how to plead the promises of God using the Word of God to booster their faith. Charles Capps was the pioneer of such things as these, and said them very succinctly. So I will present his thoughts in hopes that this blog will accomplish what Jesus and I had set out to do.

    Andrew Hemstrought Ministries https://www.mhgs.org/Text/Charles_Capps/The-Tongue-A_Creative_Force-Capps.pdf

Where do the good things in life come from?  Jesus said they come out of your heart (Matthew 12:35).  He didn’t say they came from staying up late hours and working your fingers to the bone.  He said the good things of life come out of your heart, whatever you store there, the information you program your spirit with will produce for you.  It always produces after its kind.  Faith produces faith.  Fearful words produce fear.  The way you program your spirit with the Word of God is by saying the things God said about you in His Word.  Imitate God!

Truth is the stabilizing force of life.  Jesus spoke God’s Word continually.  He was established in His Father’s Word.  He overcame the world, the flesh, and the devil by the spoken Word. The only thing Jesus used against the devil was the spoken Word of God.  Jesus spoke God’s written Word.  “It is written…”  Oh, Thank God, it is still written today!  However, in book form, the Word of God has no power until it is read or spoken by someone of faith.

God’s Word, which is conceived in your heart, then formed by the tongue and spoken out of your mouth, becomes a spiritual force releasing the ability of God within you

In August 1973, the Word of the Lord came to me saying, “If men would believe Me, long prayers are not necessary.  Just speaking the Word will bring what you desire.  My creative power is given to man in word form.  I have ceased for a time from My work, and have given man the balk of My creative power.  That power is still in My Word.  Yet for it to be effective, man must speak it in faith.  Jesus spoke it when He was on earth and as it worked then so shall it work now.  But it must be spoken aloud.  Man must rise up and have dominion over the power of evil by My Words.  It is My greatest desire that My people create a better life by the spoken Word.  For My Word has not lost its power just because it has been spoken once.  It is still equally as powerful today as when I said ‘Let there be light.’  But for My Word to be effective, man must speak it, and creative power will come forth performing that which is spoken in faith.

Spiritual Law is for your good.  It is to produce the things you need and desire.  Words are therefore very important.  Begin now to become Word Conscious.  Words are little seeds that produce after their kind.

Prayer is your legal right, it is your vehicle for you to use faith filled words to bring God on the scene on your behalf, that your joy may be full (John 16:23-24) (John 15:11). It is the Word abiding in you that causes faith to be present in your words when you pray (John 15:7-8). Notice it glorifies the Father when you get your prayers answered and your needs met.  Your joy can be full if God’s Word abides in you. (Matthew 21:21-22) (Mark 11:23-24)

Faith will make prayer work.  Prayer won’t work without faith, even though faith will work without prayer.  Prayer is one of the means of releasing faith, so if we line ourselves up with God’s Word and release our faith when we pray, we will see the power of God come alive in our lives.

    Three things you must remember.

    • The spirit world is controlled by the Word of God.
    • The natural world is to be controlled by man speaking the words of God.
    • The spoken Word of God is a creative power.
  • Walking in the Light

Lord God, You are the God who knows all things, and I desire to walk with You in Your wisdom.  Thank You for Your promise that when I call to You, You will answer me and show me great and mighty things (Jeremiah 33:3).  I ask You, please, give me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You.  Enlighten the eyes of my understanding so I will know the hope of Your calling, and what are the riches of my glorious inheritance in the saints.  Thank You for Your promise that You will reveal to me the exceeding greatness of Your power toward me as a believer (Ephesians 1:17-19). I keep not the spirit of the world, but willingly embrace Your Holy Spirit that I may understand what You have freely given me (1 Corinthians 2:12).

His light shining through us creates such a bright and beautiful world!

Heavenly Father, You are light and in You there is no darkness to be found (1 John 1:5).  You are the Father of Lights, with You there is no variation, or shadow of turning (James 1:17).  I so desire to walk in Your light at all times.  As I walk with You in Your light, Lord God, I have fellowship with You and other believers, and the blood of Jesus, Your Son, cleanses me from all sin (1 John 1:7). Oh, to spend a day without sinning! As I obey His commandment, to love others, the darkness in my life disappears and the new light of life in Christ shines in (1 John 2:8 TLB).

Father God, I know that Christ Jesus is the revelation of Your plan for salvation kept secret from the beginning of time, but now revealed and made known through Your Word, so that all nations might believe and obey You (Romans 16:25-26).  For Jesus is a light of revelation, the Light that was intended to shine upon all nations (Luke 2:32). You give us the light of the knowledge of Your glory through Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6).

Father, Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105).  The unfolding of Your Word gives light; it gives understanding even to the simple (Psalm 119:130).  From this time forward I desire to walk as Your child of light, for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness and truth (Ephesians 5:8-9).  Because as I walk in the light, I will no more have fellowship with the fruitless works of darkness.  Rather I will reprove them and expose them (Ephesians 5:11).

Thanks to You, O loving Lord, I am one of a chosen generation, a peculiar people, that we may show forth the praises of Christ who called us out of darkness into Your marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9), that Christ, the Morning Star, will shine in our hearts (2 Peter 1:19).

If we believe in the Light of the world (John 12:46), we are children of light (John 12:36). Then we are all children of the light and children of the day; we no longer are of the night, or of darkness (1 Thessalonians 5:5). We should always be thankful to the Father who has made us fit to share all the wonderful things that belong to those who live in the Kingdom of Light (Colossians 1:12). “Wake up, O Sleeper, and rise up from the dead; and Christ will give you light!” (Ephesians 5:14)

  • Walking in Authority

Heavenly Father, thank You for the authority You have given me to be victorious over the enemy in every area of my life.  Through the authority given to me through the blood of Jesus (1 John 1:7), Your most holy Word (John 8:31-32), Your Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49), unfaltering faith (2 Timothy 1:5), and the blessed name of my Lord, Jesus Christ (Mark 16:17), I will always prevail over the enemy.  Hallelujah! I am more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus who loved me (Romans 8:37).

Can we be too powerful in using God’s Word?

With Your continuing grace, Lord God, I will be sober and vigilant, because I realize the devil, as a roaring lion, is walking about seeking whom he may devour.  With Your Spirit guiding me, I will resist him, steadfast in the faith You have given me (1 Peter 5:8-9).  I speak it out loud, Lord: I submit myself to You, Father God, and I resist the devil. Therefore I know he must be fleeing from me (James 4:7).  Thank You, Lord God, for giving such authority to Your people.

I will be bold against the devil, demons, evil spirits, sickness, disease, and poverty, for Jesus is the Head of all rule and owns authority over every angelic and natural principality and power.  Jesus made a bold display and a public example in His triumphing over them (Colossians 2:15).  I am bold to say “Satan, you are a defeated foe; for my Father God and my Lord Jesus reign!”

I dare to proclaim the Word of God towards heaven, towards Hell, and towards earth.  I boldly say: The Lord is my Helper, and I will not fear what man can do to me (Hebrews 13:6). I am a believer and not a doubter (Matthew 21:21) Jesus told me that as long as I have faith and do not doubt (Matthew 17:20) but believes that what I say will happen, it will be done for me (Mark 11:23). I will not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind (James 1:6).

My heart does not condemn me, so I have confidence before my God (1 John 3:21). This is the confidence we have in approaching our God: that if we ask anything according to His Will, He hears us (1 John 5:14). Such confidence as this is ours through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God Himself (2 Corinthians 3:4-5). Lord, You are my confidence (Proverbs 3:26). Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him (Jeremiah 17:7)!

I take the shield of faith – Your mighty Word – and I use it to quench all the fiery darts the enemy hurls in my direction (Ephesians 6:16).  I will overcome him at all times through the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony (Revelation 12:11).  With Your guidance, loving Father, I will refuse to believe every random spirit, and I will try the spirits to see whether they are from You (1 John 4:1).

How I praise You, heavenly Father, for the realization that the weapons you have given to me for spiritual warfare are not carnal.  Instead, they are mighty through You to the tearing down of evil strongholds.  I will use the weapons You have given to cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against knowing You, and with Your guidance I will bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).  Thank You so much, God of Peace, for crushing Satan under my feet, and for giving me the grace of my Lord Jesus Christ in all things (Romans 16:20).

Since I have such a great High Priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, I will hold boldly to the faith I profess (Hebrews 4:14), because in this world we are like Him (1 John 4:17). I decide to walk by faith and practice faith (2 Corinthians 5:7). This has been my practice, my desire: I obey Your precepts (Psalm 119:56). When I call, I pray You answer me, that You make me bold and stouthearted (Psalm 138:3). Because I love the Lord Jesus, I will fight the good fight!

  • Praying for Boldness

You have been my hope, O Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth (Psalm 71:5). Now I want to be known as “having been with Jesus”. Your Word tells me: “When they saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13).

Boldness is a quality that Jesus can instill in us: boldness before God’s throne and before our fellow men.

Father, I pray You enable me, Your servant, to speak Your Word with great boldness (Acts 4:29). Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so I will speak Your Word boldly (Acts 4:31). Like all the saints who came before me, embolden me also that I may argue persuasively about the wonders of Your kingdom (Acts 19:8) and teach others about the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 28:31).

Your Word states that I can fearlessly and boldly draw near to Your throne of grace, and receive mercy and find grace to help in good time for my every need (Hebrews 4:16). I have this confidence to enter the Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus (Hebrews 10:19). In Him and because of my faith in Him, I dare to have boldness, courage, and confidence of free access to Your Throne (Ephesians 3:12).  I earnestly pray that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so I will boldly and fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which we are all ambassadors (Ephesians 6:19-20).

Jesus is the Author and Developer of my faith. I consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that I will not grow weary and lose heart (Hebrews 12:2-3).

Since I have been given fullness in Christ who is the head over every power and authority (Colossians 2:10), I come to Your throne with my petitions, and for others who do not know how to ascend to Your throne.

I want to be bold but not arrogant (2 Peter 2:10). I am confident of this, that He who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion (Philippians 1:6). We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first (Hebrews 3:14). So I will not throw away my confidence, for it will be richly rewarded. I only need to persevere so that when I have done the will of God, I will receive what He has promised (Hebrews 10:35-36).

Your Word says the righteous are as bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1). I have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (Revelation 5:21), so I too can be bold.  Through His great redemption I am complete in Him (Colossians 2:10). Just as I received Christ Jesus as my Lord, I will continue to live in Him, to be rooted and built up in Him, to be strengthened in faith as I have been taught, and to overflow with thankfulness (Colossians 2:6-7).

  • Praying for Goodness

Thank You, O my God, for the precious faith I have obtained through Your righteousness.  May I know more and more of grace and peace as my knowledge of You and Your Son, Jesus my Lord, grows deeper (2 Peter 1:1-2), for Your divine power has given me all things that are necessary for living the truly good life, in allowing me to know the One who has called me to You through His own glorious goodness (2 Peter 1:3).

Let us radiate God’s goodness to a needy world.

It is through this generosity that Your greatest and most precious promises have become available to us men, making it possible for us to escape the inevitable disintegration that lust produces in the world and to share in Your essential nature (2 Peter 1:4).  This makes me so very thankful, Generous Father, for as a partaker of Your divine nature, through the indwelling of Your Holy Spirit (John 14:17), I am empowered to walk in the fruit of goodness (Galatians 5:22).

You said Your people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that we may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives (Titus 3:14), for I am Your workmanship, created to do good works (Ephesians 2:10). Those who seek the Lord’s help have all the good things they need (Psalm 34:10), because You satisfy thirsty souls and fill hungry souls with good things (Psalm 107:9). You do good, O Lord, to those who are good, to those who are upright in heart (Psalm 125:4). Your Word promises that he who seeks good finds goodwill (Proverbs 11:27). So I will seek to do good.

I desire to see many good days, so I will turn from my evil ways and do good, I will seek peace and pursue it (Psalm 34:12, 14). I will trust in the Lord and do good deeds, then I will dwell in the land peacefully (Psalm 37:3, 27). For You, Lord God, are a sun and shield; You bestow favor and honor; no good thing do You withhold from those who walk blamelessly (Psalm 84:11). You indeed give what is good, and my efforts will yield a harvest (Psalm 85:12).

You tell us that we are to hate what is evil and cling to what is good (Romans 12:9), to not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21). Jesus, You told us to love our enemies, and to do good to those who hate us (Luke 6:27). You promise there will be glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good (Romans 2:10). For Your sake, I desire to be wise about what is good and innocent about what is evil (Romans 16:19).

Your Word tells us plainly: anyone who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins (James 4:17). Please encourage my heart and strengthen me in every good deed and word (2 Thessalonians 2:17) that I may not sin against You. Your Word says that If I cleanse myself from ignoble purposes, I can be a useful instrument prepared to do any good work (2 Timothy 2:21), and that I will be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17).

How can I repay the Lord for all His goodness to me? (Psalm 116:12) – By spreading Your goodness to those who need to feel it! I want to be careful to devote myself to doing what is good (Titus 3:8). Above all I want to set an example (Titus 2:7), for Jesus gave Himself for us to purify for Himself a people that are eager to do what is good (Titus 2:14). I want to live such a good life among non-believers that they may see good deeds and glorify You (1 Peter 2:12). If I suffer, please direct me to commit myself to You, my faithful Creator, and then continue to do good (1 Peter 4:19).

So, giving all diligence, I will make every effort to add to my faith goodness (2 Peter 1:5).  As I let the Holy Spirit lead me, I know I will be able to walk in goodness at all times.  Thank You, O Lord my gracious God, for Your promise that these qualities will make my life fruitful and productive in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, my Savior and Lord (2 Peter 1:8).

For the fruit of Your light consists in all goodness (Ephesians 5:9). And I am convinced that I, too, am filled with goodness (Romans 15:14) because of Your light in me. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will remain in the house of the Lord forever (Psalm 23:6).

Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24) never forgetting to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased (Hebrews 13:16). Neither let us not become weary in going good for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9). May Your saints rejoice in Your goodness, O my God. Clothe Your priests, Lord God, with salvation, and let Your godly ones rejoice in what is good (2 Chronicles 6:41).

  • Praying for Holiness

Thank You, Father God, for blessing me with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3).  In Jesus the whole assembly of believers is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord (Ephesians 2:21). I thank You that You chose me in Him before the foundation of the world so I could be holy and blameless before You in love (Ephesians 1:4). I will forever give unto You the glory due Your name, and I desire to worship You in the beauty of holiness (Psalm 29:2).

Let us stay on the path of holiness. It probably won’t be easy going, but His Word guides us.

Father, in the sweet name of Jesus, I commit myself to a sanctified life – a life of holiness, a life set apart, a life pleasing to You.  Your Word says to wash ourselves and make ourselves clean, to cease to do evil and learn to do well (Isaiah 1:16-17).  Your Word tells me: the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the holy is understanding (Proverbs 9:10). Sanctify me, O Lord, through Your truth; for Your Word is truth (John 17:17), and the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good (Romans 7:12). God, I know You discipline me for my good, that I may share in Your holiness (Hebrews 12:10).

Please help me put on the new self, created to be like You in righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:24), for Jesus has reconciled me by His physical body – through His death – to present me holy in Your sight (Colossians 1:22). Christ loved the church and gave Himself willingly for her (Ephesians 5:25), to present her to Himself as a radiant church without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless (Ephesians 5:27). So I repent and, with Your graces, will turn from every sin in my life and wash myself with the water of Your Word (Ephesians 5:26).

Lord Jesus, sanctify me through Truth.  I submit myself to You, Lord – spirit, soul, and body (1 Thessalonians 5:23).   I commit to change whatever needs to be changed in my life, because the desire of my heart is to be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, sanctified, and fitting for the Master’s use and prepared for any good work (2 Timothy 2:21).

Father, thank You for Your divine power, which has given me all things that pertain to life and godliness through knowing You and the Lord Jesus.  Thank You for calling me to glory and virtue, and for giving me Your exceedingly great and precious promises which enable me to be a partaker of Your divine nature (2 Peter 1:3-4).  This astounding promise is what enables me to walk in holiness.

For You did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life (1 Thessalonians 4:7). Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, let us fix our thoughts on Jesus (Hebrews 3:1), our high priest who meets our needs – One who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens (Hebrews 7:26). Let us make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; for without holiness no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).

Thank You, Lord God, for Your promise that we may eat the good of the land, when we are willing and obedient to You (Isaiah 1:19). In You our hearts rejoice for we trust in Your holy name (Psalm 33:21).

May He strengthen our hearts so that we will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all His holy ones (1 Thessalonians 3:13)!

  • Heeding the Call to Holiness

Holy, holy, holy are You, Lord God Almighty (Revelation 4:8). For You alone are holy (Revelation 15:4).  Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory (Isaiah 6:3). O God, I exalt You and I worship You, for You are holy (Psalm 99:9).  Who is like YOU, O Lord – majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? (Exodus 15:11). You are enthroned as the Holy One; You are the praise of Israel (Psalm 22:3). Holiness becomes Your house, O Lord (Psalm 93:5). May all who are godly be happy in the Lord and give glory to His holy name (Psalm 97:12).

For You are mighty and have done great things for me; holy is Your name (Luke 1:49), Come, O my soul, and worship the Lord with the beauty of holiness (Psalm 96:9). Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me bless His Holy Name (Psalm 103:1). Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto Your holy name, and to triumph in Your praise (Psalm 106:47).

I want to build myself up in holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit (Jude 20). Just as You called me – and You are holy – so I want to be holy in all I do; for it is written: “Be Holy, because I am holy” (1 Peter 1:15-16). Like living stones, it was intended for us to be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood offering spiritual sacrifices to our God (1 Peter 2:5); a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people set apart (1 Peter 2:9).

Sanctify us through Your truth; for Your Word is truth (John 17:17), that I may serve You in holiness and in righteousness all the days of my life (Luke 1:75). So I give my body to You, O God, to be a holy, living sacrifice – the kind You will accept (Romans 12:1). For it is from You that I have life through Christ Jesus. He made me acceptable to You; He made me to be pure and holy (1 Corinthians 1:30). Your Word says: “God’s home is holy and clean,” and I am that home (1 Corinthians 3:17). With these promises, I know I must cleanse myself from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, so You can perfect holiness in me (2 Corinthians 7:1).

Israel – even the new Israel – is “holy unto the Lord” and the first-fruits of His children (Jeremiah 2:3), for if the first-fruits are holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root be holy, so are the branches (Romans 11:16).

The Holy Spirit has been given to me (Romans 5:5). Now I must let myself be a slave to all that is right and holy (Romans 6:19); I am now free from the power of sin and am a slave of God, and His benefits to me include holiness (Romans 6:22).

Your Word tells us that “a main road will go through the once-deserted land; it will be named ‘The Holy Highway.’ No evil-hearted men may walk upon it.” You will walk there with us; even the most stupid will not be able to miss the way (Isaiah 35:8). In that day of Your power Your people shall come to You willingly, dressed in holy array (Psalm 110:3). I truly want to be part of that assembly!!

  • Praying for Wholeness of Mind

Father, my heart is filled with gratitude for all You have done for me.  You have qualified me to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of Your light (Colossians 1:12).  You have delivered me from the power of darkness and have translated me into the kingdom of Your dear Son (Colossians 1:13).  Through the blood of Jesus, You have provided me with redemption and forgiveness for all my sins (Colossians 1:14).

Love for Jesus fills us – to overflowing.

Thank You, Father, for Jesus who is the perfect image of Yourself, and He is the first-born over all creation (Colossians 1:15).  By Him all things in heaven and in earth were created; all things were created by Him, and for Him (Colossians 1:16). Jesus is before all things and by Him all things hold together (Colossians 1:17).  Jesus is the faithful witness, the ruler of all the kings of the earth (Revelation 1:5), as well as the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End of everything (Revelation 22:13).  From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another (John 1:16).

I am so thankful, Father, that it pleased You to let all fullness dwell in Your Son, Jesus (Colossians 1:19).  Thank You that, through His blood, peace with You is now possible. Through Jesus You have reconciled all things to Yourself; all people on earth, and all souls in heaven can now be gathered to You (Colossians 1:20).

Through His great redemption I now have wholeness.  Indeed, I am complete in Him (Colossians 2:10).  Just as I received Christ Jesus as my Lord, I will continue to live in Him, to be rooted and built up in Him, to be strengthened in faith as I have been taught, and to overflow with thankfulness (Colossians 2:6-7). In every part of my life, Father, I ask You to help me to give Jesus the preeminence in everything (Colossians 1:18) that He deserves.

As Your chosen people, holy and dearly loved, I ask You to send Your Spirit to clothe me with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12). I know we are to bear with one another and forgive whatever grievances we have against others. We are to forgive as You, Gracious Father, forgive us (Colossians 3:13). And above all these virtues, please teach me to put on love, which binds all of them together in perfect unity (Colossians 3:14).

For I know these are the weapons of my warfare; these weapons are not carnal, but mighty through You to the pulling down of strongholds – intimidations, fears, doubts, unbelief, and failures (2 Corinthians 10:4).  I wish to refute every argument and theory and reasoning and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the true knowledge of You; and I want to lead every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Today I pray to be transformed by the renewing of my mind, that I may prove what is Your good and acceptable and perfect Will (Romans 12:2).  Let not Your Word, O Lord, depart out of my mouth, but direct me to meditate on it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written therein.  Then I shall make my way prosperous; then I shall have good success (Joshua 1:8), for the plans of the diligent certainly lead to profit (Proverbs 21:5).

So I will not fret or have anxiety about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, I will continue to make my wants known unto You, O gracious Lord, and Your peace which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over my heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).  Today I fix my mind on whatever is true, worthy, honorable, just, pure, lovely, kind, winsome, and gracious.  If there is any virtue and excellence, anything worthy of praise, I will think on and weigh and take account of these things (Philippians 4:8) that I may bring You a smile!
