Praying to Give God First Place

Thank You, Father, for the power of Jesus Christ in my life.  He is the brightness of Your glory and the express image of Your person, and He upholds all things by the word of His power.  Thank You that He has purged me of all my sins, and He now sits at Your right hand to make intercession on my behalf (Hebrews 1:3).  The inheritance He has received permits Him to obtain a more excellent name than even the name of angels.  I join with the angels of Heaven, O Lord my God, in honoring Jesus, the Christ (Hebrews 1:4-7).

Everything created is from Him, and made for us, that we may seek Him.

I embrace Your Word which tells me I am dead to sin, and my life is hidden with Christ Jesus in You (Colossians 3:3).  Dearest God and Father, I realize I am not my own, I have been bought with a price – the precious Blood of Jesus, Your Son (1 Corinthians 6:20).  I have been crucified with Christ Jesus, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me (Galatians 2:20).

Because of Your great love and mercy, I am risen with Christ, and I seek those things which are above where Christ sits at Your right hand (Colossians 3:1).  Father God, I commit myself to giving You first place in my life at all times.  Yet only with Your graces can I actually accomplish this. I will seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness, and I thank You for taking care of me and all my needs (Matthew 6:33).

Your Word declares that my heart will be found where my treasure is (Matthew 6:21). I sincerely desire You, O Lord God, to be my treasure!  You are the One God, the Father of all, and You are my Father.  You are above all and through all, and in all that exists (Ephesians 4:6).  Teach me, Father, to keep You first in my life, and to keep all the priorities of my life in line with Your priorities.

You are my Love; You are my Life; You are my breath; You are my all in all (1 Corinthians 15:28).
